December 6, 20205 yr She's great. Crazy talented vocalist. A bit crazy, but also... she was pretty effective at shedding the whole Disney thing. Of the various actors and singers that came out of that factory I'm trying to think if there's anyone who is as much of a legit talent as she is, or as interesting. I don't follow her music closely enough to know all the hits, but Party in the USA and Wrecking Ball are both great songs. Of the crop of female pop stars over the past 15 years, she... ranks fairly high but will also have more staying power (to some degree) than most. Her, Taylor Swift, Gaga. Obviously already Beyonce. I bet she's a blast.
December 6, 20205 yr That said I don't need to hear anyone but Dolores O'Riordan sing any Dolores O'Riordan song. Goddammit rest in peace.

December 6, 20205 yr Thanks for starting this thread. I'm a closet Miley Cyrus fan. Those 3 videos above do a good job of showcasing her versatility. She's done a great job of evolving from her Hannah Montana childhood and being the spawn of of Billy Ray and Achy, Breaky heart. I like her IDGAF attitude.
December 7, 20205 yr I’m admittedly really picky with female singers but to me she sounds like a chain smoker doing karaoke.
December 11, 20205 yr Author She can sing Cornell crowd was like meh at her being announced. After they were like damn
December 11, 20205 yr Anybody who hasn't realized Miley Cyrus can sing her ass off for at least the last decade has not been paying attention whatsoever. I've had this argument dozens of times over the years -- criticize the material, if that's how you feel, but the voice is stellar. Edited December 11, 20205 yr by jimmyjazz
December 11, 20205 yr Closeted fan here as well. As much as I love the Cranberries, the Miley version is awesome. Not as good as the original but does it justice. Then there's this and god how I love me some angsty women grunge singers from the 90's:

December 12, 20205 yr Now that I've watched that clip of "Doll Parts", her vocal similarity to Stevie Nicks really becomes apparent. Miley has a deeper alto, but she has that warble (vibrato) in her midrange that is Stevie all day long. I actually think Miley might have more power up high. She really killed it at the end of that performance, I didn't see that coming.
December 13, 20205 yr Author She had vocal surgery last year. I think her F5 days might be over. Either way, she’s always has a deeper sided voice but her deep side has really shined recently. This shows a contrast to her higher voiced sister

Timberlake is the best of the Mouseketeers IMO.
September 10, 20214 yr 1) I like her perky titties, and she shamelessly shows them on the regular. 2) The stern show today made me aware of this: 3) Chad Smith is just so great.
July 26Jul 26 This is good shit. That early perfect fourth on “every hour” tickles my brain. Pitchfork skewered it, which is usually a good sign.
