December 17, 20205 yr After watching his film, Sorrell can play and will only get better. Big framed guy that will fill out and can move. Play him inside and he'll be plenty quick. He can be a little upright at times but seems like he has some flexibility, motor and finds the ball. I don't think the spin move will translate to the college game but he'll get stronger and learn a swim or punch. He's a good get and a nice consolation surprise for the Dline. January 15Jan 15 Absolute freak athlete. If he doesn't go before the second rd, the NFL as a whole is retarded (they are, I know).
February 1Feb 1 Popular Post Great to see our lone guy at the Senior Bowl show up huge in practice. Having the OL guys there name you top DL over Nolen and other studs is impressive. Here's hoping Mr. Sorrell has a long pro career. https://www.si.com/college/texas/news/barryn-sorrell-earns-2025-senior-bowl-honor-01jjzaywfs16
February 1Feb 1 Wow. According to 247, he was a 3-star and the 111th ranked d lineman in the country.

February 1Feb 1 It’s amazing how some take to “coaching,” coupled with Strength and Training programs that turn that 3-star Coal into a Diamond. Gary Patterson was the best at that over the last two+ decades.Hook’em!!!

February 2Feb 2 Doesn't have the explosiveness or bend to be a great pass rusher, IMO, but he sets the edge well and has some heavy hands at the point of contact. In terms of the type of NFL player he could turn out to be, I think Brian Robison might be a good comparison. BRob started out as a sub and made himself into a solid starting LDE as a good run defender who (in his peak years) could also get you 5-9 sacks per year along with plenty of pressures and QB hits coming from the left edge.

Not sure you are giving Robison enough credit. The dude could fly off the edge. Sorrell doesn't have that kind of twitch, but he should be able to set a hard edge and just grind some poor RT down all game.

If I remember correctly, Robison could block FGs/PATs like a mofo, because that guy could get up!

I'm comparing Sorrell and BRob in terms of the type of career Sorrell might have, i.e., what i think his ceiling as a pro likely is. I'm not necessarily comparing them with regard to individual attributes.
February 2Feb 2 Really hope he can have a long career like BRob. His Mom and brother came by our tailgate a couple of times over the last two seasons and they are really nice folks. Not surprised at the schools he was considering (see above), the brother is in finance in NYC.

I knew he was solid and the staff obviously liked him because he started for so long, but didn’t realize the staff felt his pro upside was that high. Awesome.
April 26Apr 26 Great representative of our university. Deserves a shot at a solid career in a town that really cares about football.
April 27Apr 27 This dude gonna be on the Charles Omenihu NFL track of making a shit ton of money, but also creating camps for kids.
