I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I am saying it is likely quite difficult to find photos where Matt Rhule’s mouth isn’t open. Allegedly, he has a case chronic halitosis that rivals that of a goat-eating bridge troll. He’s got to be rough to work with closely. I assume his assistants receive combat pay for sticking around.

I can neither confirm nor deny. I’ll just say that rumor has it they schedule recruiting activities so that the wind is blowing past hog farms before it reaches campus in order to mask Rhule’s breath. Doesn’t sound like a positive.

This is brilliant. Now he can’t be sued for telling those recruits that “I can guarantee I can get you to the combine.”

He likely has bad breath because the entire Nebraska athletic department gargles Texas’ balls.

This is how I imagine you trying to navigate Surly and our constant 14 year old “your mom” jokes while also being 14 years old yourself at heart (as you should to be here).

There was nothing juvenile about my response.  It was fact-based.

Does Nebraska gargle them  gently because I would imagine significant risk to the garglee less so the gargelor.

Hilarious from a guy who flaked out on the son the of a 5 star legacy QB and basically blew the recruitment worse than Tom Herman did the Brocks.

Tom Herman blew the Brockermeyers? Well, that explains a lot of things--uh, NTTAWWT . . .

If Tom Herman did something to drive the Brockermeyers away from signing from Texas you can't say he didn't do at least one thing good for the program. Trust me on this one.

I guess part of being a badass Blackshirt means you can't count to 11.

Maybe Nebraska gets better this year? I don't know. But that game was not impressive, even if they won against Cincinnati. They lack talent. They can't tackle. They can't rush the passer. They can't stop the run. They can't cover in the backfield. Their wide receivers aren't very good. Their tight end looks like he runs with cement shoes. I don't like Raiola as a QB. Emmett Johnson runs hard but he doesn't look like an elite talent. I like him, though. Their punter is good at punting inside the 20.

It's the season opener, but I felt like they were saved by Cincinnati calling so many pass plays with an inept QB and receiving corps, including throwing into the end zone instead of continuing to run the ball to kick a field goal to tie the game and send it into overtime. I thought they would look better, just because I trust Rhule to evaluate and develop talent. The Big 10 has a lot of bad teams, so maybe being mediocre is enough to have a decent season and then they build off of it.

Nebraska starts off the season with a one-score win over a dreadful Cincy team. Huskers may have their own version of the Aggie Rollercoaster on their hands, with the way they're celebrating.

Has there been an easier non-conference slate in the history of the world than Nebraska's?

Houston Christian?!  Areyoufuckingkiddingme?

I'd argue Penn State, Maryland, and Indiana have easier non-conf schedules in the Big 10 alone. They all play an FCS team and at least Cinci plays in the BigXII and typically has a pulse.

Blackshits usually indicate some sort of medical problem.

FTR, I was in Omaha last weekend. Nebraska fans are wearing red in public again, feeling a little froggy. I also noticed several Longhorn fans and no one was talking shit to them. So there’s that.

Not too surprisingly, Holgorsen is a good coach.  In the last two weeks, the Nebraska has demonstrated they can execute his offense well against (vastly) inferior talent.  No punts in two weeks.  One turnover.  No negative yardage plays last week.  Pretty clean penalty-wise. Sure, it's against shitty competition, but it's been a while since Nebraska has executed well against shitty competition.  To me, the biggest positive note is that the second team has come and continued to operate at a high level.  It's a well coached squad, up and down the chart, and that is a credit to Holgorsen.  The big questions are 1)how much of a talent-delta is there to the top 25 or top 10, 2) how well the offense can execute against better d-lines and blitz packages.

Defensively, the missed tackles are my biggest concern.  The team seems to swarm to the ball well, but missing tackles against will kill them against talented backs and mobile quarterbacks.

I don't know if Nebraska should beat Michigan, but I would take the over. (UM is a 2.5 point favorite with a 45.5 point o/u.)

Damn... Gophers up 21-6 in the 4th qtr

Not a good look for Dana and Rhule

I enjoyed watching the camera shots of the Nebraska fans looking despondent in the stands tonight. Some of those people were heading to very dark places, and I enjoyed seeing the beginnings of them heading there.

Yea man, back to their lives in fucking Nebraska

Matt Rhule is such a fraud. I don't know what happened at Baylor but he has cashed that fluke in for an eternity of failing upwards.
