Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Kiss my ass. Kiss his ass. Kiss your ass. Happy Hanukkah.

Ha ha, we're watching it right now. Eddie just showed up.

"You got a kiss for me?"
"Better take a rain check on that, Art - he's got a lip fungus they ain't identified yet."

Where's Eddie?  He usually eats these goddamn things.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead

Surprised, Eddie? If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised than I am right now.

Yes it is, it's a bit nipply out. I mean nippy out, what did I say, nipple? Huh, there is a nip in the air.

Honey, why don't you go run and get the kids' things, and don't forget the rubber sheets and the gerbils.

i had never heard/noticed this line until this year. This as the sexy voiced followup to the "we could certainly use some time alone" statement about how they are going to go fuck in the trailer is hilarious

It just occurred to me this year that Eddie is absent in that scene because he is out kidnapping the boss.

Can’t see the line, can you Russ?
shitters full

For the first time ever yesterday, I finally noticed the line is actually “the shitter was full”. I’ve never heard anyone quote it like that. Mandela Effect.

You checked our shitters, Honey?

He says it a few times, and I think says it both ways.

they're great but you're an idiot.

Todd and Margo are what I imagine married Jerry and Elaine would be like. Nice house in Rye. Jerry gives up comedy and enrolls in Bloomingdale’s Executive Training Program.

I don’t know anything about rvs, is that really how shitters are drained? Just pushed through a hose? Do you have to go to a legit rv park to drain it in a real shit hole connected to the sanitary sewer?

Are you sure you’re from Oklahoma? There’s a hose that connects to septic tank.

Underated and rarely quoted lines:

Eddie: Your company kill a them people in India not too long ago?

Clark:  Naw.  We missed out on that one.

Love cousin Eddie loading the grocery cart with several huge bags of dog food fully knowing he’s going to ask Clark to pay.

Yes. When we drained the RV coming back from the Bama game last year, my friend who hooked up the hose ran away when it filled with fluid and almost took on a life of its own. Wish I had it on video.

If the place you're staying doesn't have full sewer hookups, then you usually drain the hose into a septic tank and then empty the tank at the designated dump site before you leave the park. This was pretty common back in the 80s and 90s when we first started RV camping. My dad's rule was that we weren't allowed to take a shit in the RV toilet if the park we were staying at had a public restroom, unless it was the middle of the night or an emergency.

A couple of partially incomplete answers so far, so here ya go.

Modern RVs (1970s and newer) have at least two separate waste tanks.  One (or more) for "gray water" which is connected to the sink and shower drains.  And one for "black water" which is connected to the shitter only.  When any of the tanks fill up from normal use, they need to be drained or "dumped."  If you're staying at an RV park that has full hookups, then each RV pad has a hole in the ground, with an underground pipe that is connected to the RV park's septic tank, or potentially directly to a municipal sewer system.  You leave your RV connected to that hole via a flexible 3" ribbed hose, aka as a "stinky slinky," and the when the shitter's full, you open a valve and the tank drains into the hole.  If you're not staying at a place with full hookups, like most state parks in Texas, then there is a separate "dump station" on the way out.  So when you're leaving your campsite, you should stop at the dump station, connect your stinky slinky from the RV tank dump outlet, to the campground's dump station's hole, and let your tanks drain before you leave.

If you're dry camping or boondocking off the grid at a place with no dump station, then there are other options.  Many truck stops have a dump station that might either be free, or you can use for a small fee.

Since there was no dump station available in Clark Griswold's driveway, Cousin Eddie was just dumping that sewer hose directly into the gutter or sewer outlet in front of Clark's house.  As you might imagine, this is illegal and not a great idea.
