Looks like our force field is extending down to San Marcos.  Red and orange just die there.

Back for a sec... Tornado warning for New Braunfels area, moving toward San Marcos. Golf ball sized hail. Should move well south of Austin proper, maybe skirt SE Travis County.

Weather apps saying we are getting lightning strikes within a mile, but radar shows everything breaking up well to the SW.

Earlier this evening, was hearing thunder, swear the radar showed the major activity down towards SA/NB.  That was weird.

Yeah, same.  Weird, indeed.

Moved my truck to the airport garage and pulled the cars into the garage. It won’t hail in Austin now.

Yeah both my weather apps had my house under the yellow, on the fringe of red. Step outside and it's barely drizzling.

I live in Keller and yea that was some pound me in the ass hail.  Looked like somebody was shooting a 50 cal into my pool over and over again.  Somehow my car, which as the oldest was the one strategically left out, didn't get anything but some dents. Seeing lots of others with broken windshields etc.  I parked as close to house as I could and northern exposure so house (roof) took most of the brunt.  Every limb and leaf that Coldmageddon had weakened that just finished the fuck off.  Ahhh be fun cleaning up tomorrow.

he's done well so far.  can already tell he's going to be great.  has a really cool backstory too.  grew up in austin, ever since he was little has wanted to be a weatherman.

Yeah, I'm good with him.  He proved his mettle in the hurricane + massive flooding a few years ago on the Texas coast.  He never got hysterical, he was always about facts.

Oh cool, power just flickered and my NAS's alarm went off when it switched to battery.  Forgot to reset that so it's quiet and just emails me, instead of trying to wake the kids up.

So I'm seeing lightning strikes NE of Central Austin, but all of the bad shit looks to be SW of us.  Very weird.  Also, something looks like it's headed towards Austin-Bergstrom.

Fucking Lovely.

Keep getting notices of lightning strikes a mile or two to the north, while the orange/red shit is moving S of us.

Yeah, either it expanded a bit on it's northern side, or it started sliding up, and I'm leaning towards sliding right up towards downtown.

Forcefield only used to protecting shit from the west.

Flee flicker from due south.

Zip code?

& While you are probably not leaking, you more than likely have dents that are covered by your insurance policy for a proper restoration (plus lots of other collateral damage).

NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   1103 PM CDT Wed Apr 28 2021

   Areas affected...Centarl and Northeast Texas

   Concerning...Tornado Watch 121...122...

   Valid 290403Z - 290600Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 121, 122 continues.

SUMMARY...A severe threat is expected to continue into the early
overnight hours from the Texas Hill Country north-northeastward into
parts of northeast Texas. Large hail, wind damage and an isolated
tornado threat will be possible with the stronger thunderstorms.

DISCUSSION...The latest radar imagery from San Antonio and Fort
Worth shows several strong to severe thunderstorms located from
between Del Rio and San Antonio extending northward to near
Stephenville, Texas. The storms are located along and just to the
west of an inverted surface trough. The RAP shows an axis of
moderate instability near the surface trough with MLCAPE estimated
in the 2000 to 3000 J/kg range. WSR-88D VWPs near this axis of
instability have 0-6 km shear in the 55 to 65 kt range. The
instability and shear will likely keep the severe threat going late
this evening into the early overnight period. Large hail and wind
damage will be the primary threats with supercells that persist. An
isolated tornado threat may also exist with any supercell that is
   dominant.

Actually the important question is:  How many toilet flushes can you get out of that hail.
