Had lunch yesterday at Vector Brewing, my local neighborhood brewery. Their IPAs can be hit or miss to me. Some pretty decent though their hazy IPAs generally have a little too much bitterness to me. The saison and Berliner Weisse (both with a fruit twist) and eggnog stout were particularly good. Good pizza too.

Not to start a new thread, but this should go over well with college chicks.  Blackouts will come that much earlier.  A new 8% White Claw.

What does Live Oak's distro look like now? I might be heading to Corpus in the near future for a couple of days, and while I expect nothing I figured its worth the ask.

Starting to get out more and more in the post-vaxed days. Hit up Terry Black’s BBQ here in Dallas for lunch (spoiler: good stuff) and then went by nearby Westlake Brewing in Deep Ellum. All solid offerings.

Also, since so nearby, we swung by Deep Ellum Brewing. First time I’ve ever been there. Cool looking location but, big pet peeve, if you’re gonna have a taproom, have more than just one beer which isn’t already available in bottles/cans (which I got...a golden ale which wasn’t bad). Great branding and taproom. Okay beers.

Finally, as we had a little bit of time left, swung by always dependable and local favorite Celestial for a quick shared drink plus picked up one of each of the cans they had available to go at Celestial Beerworks. Tangerine Triple Stars triple IPA tastes just like what it sounds like which is to say great.

Since 6:30 this morning I’ve fixed 5 waterways, did boundary tillage, logged a 70 minute mountain bike ride, fought a grass fire in a cattle pasture, and had some alone with the wife.

This is earned.

Spring IMO (both the season and the beer):

But beware of the Radioactive Fallout (I’m a fan of El Segundo’s clear IPAs but this hazy was lacking):

Maybe someone has already mentioned the Martin House Space Pizza.   Yeah, it tastes like tomatoes/pizza sauce.    Yeah, I'm very, very glad I only got one in mixed sixer from HEB.

I respect Martin House for what they do and like more than a few of their offerings.  This is not one of them.

I'm waffling on finishing it or pouring it out.

While it's a fantastic resource, I'm usually overwhelmed when reading this thread over the huge disparity between what is available in Lubbock compared to other whereabouts.

However...

Champurrado and Breakfast Brown Ale sound like winners to me. Do they bottle/can?

Yes.

Not sure about their distribution tho.

The Doc Chilton and Champurrado were both badass when I went in 2018.  The rest of the beers werent good tho. That was a while back so maybe theyve gotten better?

I prefer porters and stouts so the Champurrado was my fav.

I was impressed how they have a something for everybody. I enjoyed everything in the taster. Was pleasantly surprised actually because to be honest, I chuckled a bit when I saw the USA Today ranking.

First time I’ve had Alesmith’s Speedway Stout Vietnamese Coffee version. Damn that’s smooth.

But was it truly Vietnamese coffee or just cold brew?

(Inside joke for those of us in East Dallas this week).

You going to buy out the remaining Primus (still see it in stores)

Nah I still have a beer-fridge-shelf full of Primus.  I tend to do that in the winter to tide me over til Fall.  I'll leave some to you all. :)

I've been digging the one-off specials lately, so I'll probably head out tomorrow and see what I can see.
