I don't believe this part is correct from what guys like GH have reported. Seems like he just liked LSU more.

Spent the last several days in Nebraska with my relatives from there, including a former coordinator at Wyoming. They are downright giddy about Rhule, and sense major change in the program.

Well no shit, Casey Thompsons toxic ass is out of there and on the his next/previous coaching victim.

Yes, kids originally from Louisiana generally hate LSU.

Where are the good commits. That’s why I come here. But I don’t see any. Must be the numbers.

Replace Rhule with Frost and last several days with three years ago and it's still accurate.

(I do think Rhule is better than Frost)

FROM TODAY'S GERRY HAMILTON  / JUSTIN WELLS VIDEO UPDATE

  • Solomon Williams (24):  One of the fastest rising edge prospects;  instinctive pass rusher.  May come in over the weekend.  Really likes Oregon, may take Ovs to Texas, Aggie, Oregon during the season.
  • Lots of talk about building influence at Mater Dei and other big programs (In CA, Mater Dei, St. John Bosco)
  • Offer watch:  Byron Washington OT (Desoto).  Chad Woodfork, Cobey Sellers  - all 25 - offer watch, takes.
  • Landon Rink (25): Moving closer to decision (think Texas), going to Texas, Aggie, OU (I think)

         KEY 24 RECRUITS / 5 STARS

  • Colin Simmons:  Visiting LSU, with a bunch of schoolmates;  looks like he may be speeding up his timeline, which is positive for Texas.  (Wells - we're in as good a position as we could be in, with Simmons.  If he leaves LSU uncommitted, he'll come to Texas.) Likes Texas, A&M still a factor.  They think it's good he's visiting LSU, shows he's closer to a decision.
  • Dominick McKinley:  Similar to Simmons, visiting LSU, speeding up his decision.  He was going to visit LSU anyway.  Ags in the mix.  They think he may be better fit at Tex and OU.
  • Wardell Mack:  Speeding up timeline - to August.  LSU Thursday, Florida over the weekend.
  • Ryan Wingo:  Said he's sticking to Dec timeline, Ags over weekend, Mizzou/Tenn over the week.  Tenn school to watch.  Mike Matthews commitment to Tenn does not knock them out.  Not sure he'll stick to Dec timeline.
  • Kobe Black:  Ags this weekend, LSU trying to get him to campus.  Sep/Oct Ovs to LSU and Ag.  He may know where he wants to go (per his Dad), his fam may want him to make a decision, but Kobe Black will stick to his own timelines.  Once he commits, he will be done.  Texas in best position;  holds the cards.  Wants to replace Ryan Watts;  knows that's the plan.   Trains with Jelani McDonald.  He may stretch his timeline a bit.
  • Brandon Baker:  Other Mater Dei stars on campus here.  Will he be at Oregon?  Mater Dei football activities may prevent him from going to Oregon.  Texas in top two, either Oregon or Ohio State second/third.  Nebraska trying to get him on campus.  Tenn also trying.  Texas in good spot.  Real battle. Oregon was leader - bro played there.  Visited Texas, Oh St and Georgia.  Sark/Flood - good phone calls.  Mom's a distant relative of Akana.  Will play RT.
  • Micah Hudson:  May/will get back to campus, esp if his recruitment goes to Jan.  Also - they insist the contact with Hudson never stopped (even through WR coaching change).
  • Ross (edge):  some said he's still interested, not heard much.  But he's not going to LSU.
  • Zino Ummagumma:  Sounded really good in June, but didn't commit.  OU/Ag still recruiting.  Hold up may be to see how Neto does/plays.  Doesn't crave attention, etc.. Thinks may sign with Texas, wants to decide by early in season, if possible.
  • If Texas beats Bama, some others may pop back up.
  • Danny Okoye:  End of June, Tenn led Texas.  Visited Tenn/LSU.  At Ok this weekend.  (Mom OK State grad.)  Was hot on OK first, coming back around.  If she's at OK this weekend, that may suggest she wants him close to home.  Needs to come back to Austin.  His mom will need to visit.  Very mature kid.  One school he really liked was LSU, some miscommunication, may be reconnecting.  Wants to come to Tx/OU.
  • Texas is the home team at Tx/OU, and going to have a bunch of kids at the game.
  • Gerry ran through the schools we're competing with for the stars - pretty much SEC schools for all of them.
  • Joshua Lair:  Target before Gipson, still a target
  • Reiterated the blindingly obvious - win over Bama would be huge for momo.

*** Finally, they were in complete agreement that dickwads who talk about Charleston on FB message boards are bigger douchebags than Ketch's dumps.  They - and their 473 taste buds - suck.***

The college of Charleston does not field a football team, so at least they won’t be stealing recruits.

however, those looking to make a living playing football professionally and wish to live in the amazing city of Charleston now have that opportunity with the pirates of the UFL.

The Arch Manning card auction is over $60,000 with almost 4 days left. That thing is going to bring in 6figs.

All I’ve read is his tweet.  Is the nft company share also going to st David’s?  They’d look greedy if not, but with businesses you never know.  Hopefully this is a marketing expense for them and it’s all going towards the hospital.

They were downright giddy about Scott Frost.  They thought he was the second coming. I shit you not:  when Frost arrivedl in Lincoln, the Nebraska governor ordered a commemorative state holiday in which the governor declared the first of Sept. "Scott Frost Day."  I am not making this up.

Looks good. This is from the auction listing:  One hundred percent of proceeds from the sale of the Manning Prizm card will benefit children and their families in Central Texas with support from St. David’s HealthCare and St. David’s Foundation.

the info in his wiki on this is amazing

On December 2, 2017, Frost accepted the head football coach position at his alma mater, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Despite immediate fanfare following Frost's arrival in Lincoln, including a commemorative state holiday in which Governor Pete Ricketts declared September 1 as "Scott Frost Day," Frost's 2018 Nebraska Cornhuskers began the season with six straight losses, the worst start to a football season in school history. Scott Frost finished his first season 4–8, the worst single-season record of any Nebraska head football coach in more than fifty years

The Scott Frost tangent is making me laugh for two reasons. First, that shit is hilarious. Someone find the Tim Brando tweets and more hagiographies on the guy. Second, the recruiting purists have just nearly shamed the thread into steering back on topic and away from Charleston and now it’s Frosty the Closet-hider-man time.

Best part of this is that in their wildest Husker fantasy, Nebraska is getting left out of the playoff behind Texas in year 11 of Frost's tenure.

Little known fact, that September 1, 2018, aka "Scott Frost Day," actually checks in as the highest number of calls to 911 ever recorded in the entire history of the state of Nebraska for a single day. Almost all of them were domestic violence cases, although there were plenty of calls about suspicous "little bitch" types lurking and skulking around people's property. It seems there was just a rash of infidelity, often among neighbors, where the perpetrators end up being caught, the men fled, and the women just had the shit kicked out of them by husbands and boyfriends. I believe there were over 900 calls to Nebraska's emergency service lines by women begging for help against the abuse, or stangely the cucked bragging about their crimes and strangely telling the cops they were going to find the "pasty bitch" responsible and rip his head clean off.

Tom Osborne called in one of his last political favors to claim the cancelling of the Akron and Nebraska game was due to inclement weather, but the reality is that no one could actually find Scott Frost until 4 days after September 1st. It was on September 5th that a janitor inside Memorial Stadium was cleaning when Frost just tumbled out of a storage closet, whimpering in his piss stained pants, amidst a pile of old mops hermetically sealed program guides from the 1971 football season. The Janitor called the athletic department, Frost was whisked away, and then went on to lose his first 6 straight games as the head coach of Nebraska.

But almost no one speaks of Scott Frost Day, and those that do in hushed tones often refer to it as something much more ominous: Larwence Phillips Day.

I always love how fans forgot Texas was signing a top 5 class after a 5-7 abortion. I bitch about recruiting misses, but it isnt representative of the results. Texas has recruited amazingly well for a team that has averaged 7 wins over the last 4 years. He should be impressed with Texas's recruiting efforts.

Well, it’s a little different — Sark was coming off year 1 at 5-7, and Jimbo is coming off 5-7 in year 5… Any coach at a blue blood gets a significant recruiting bounce in year 2 regardless of record (ex: Charlie Strong, Venables)

Gerry Hamilton: Huge month ahead for Texas Longhorns recruiting

Quote

Steve Sarkisian and staff know what is in front of them headed into August. There is the start of fall camp August 2, and a number of 2024 targets that are closing in on decisions. The month of August is setting up to be one that ultimately defines just how impressive the Texas Longhorns’ 2024 class will be. Inside Texas takes a look at what is ahead of Texas on the recruiting trail with July coming to a close.

Official visit schedule: Texas Tech June 16-18
First two mentioned: Texas Tech and Texas
Also in the hunt: Ohio State, Georgia

Oh so NOW the ags are committed.

That makes them undefeated in the “committed era.”
