we hear about how shitty Conor and Majors are, but they have started every game possible under Flood.

I mean there are hours of videos showing Conner to be horrible at playing LG. What we don't see is practice and because of that he's likely the best at the position, but he's also one of the worst starting P5 OG in the country, I am also sure that someone with a PFF sub can post their rankings of the Texas OL.

Mike Garcia had plenty of value as a 6th OL.  If that’s what happens with Conner it would still be very VALUABLE.

Let’s make sure we aren’t over-confident because most of our players are  available against the frogs.

Luckily I'm just sitting here holding my dick in Houston, not going to affect the team positively or negatively.

I love being in short yardage situations and seeing Conner looking back into our backfield with his whole body facing our RBs getting tackled behind the LOS.

I also love when he’s the pulling guard and gets stonewalled in the hole our RB is trying to go through.

guy gets absolutely no push in run game. Hell DJ Campbell is grading out higher in pass pro than him.

Before Cam played last week he was also most likely to false start.

Career outlook not looking great for the Katy Taylor Bros.

One will probably be an engineer at Boeing. The other will live in his mother’s guest room and post on TexAgs.

Conner changed his degree to Geography - less aeronautics, more earth science

It will be written of these pages:

There were a few valiant efforts to return the thread to recruiting. Efforts with real news and something to discuss. Still, the flood of dick-headed football board fuckwad fuckery was impossible to stem. One fungus showed up to complain about a player, and the rest stormed the thread like flesh-eating jock rash.

O, for the satisfying sting from the nozzles of Lamisil spray.

I support Roma. He's clearly aiming for momentum and narrative flow over pure "correct" English, which is absolutely acceptable in prose and in marketing copy.

Seeing Conner come in at LT for Banks during the K-State game should probably dispel any notions about Conner getting displaced barring a major leap in pass protection and general blocking awareness from Neto/Hutson.
Conner may not be the most effective blocker, but he GENERALLY knows what is going on and who he should be blocking.

What does it matter when he physically can't make a lot of those blocks and has little interest in contact?

Conner had one of his best games at Texas last week. It was the first time I can remember him actually making some pads pop. Probably an outlier but hopefully they can continue to tap into whatever they did in the week leading up to the game, because just like with Majors, no matter how many fans yearn for an alternative, coaches tend not to bench multi year starters. Also Hutson appears to be first off the bench and he’s not an upgrade, so there’s that.

From LSU 247 regarding Drelon Miller:

Quote

One new school working its way into the mix is Texas. The Longhorns offered Miller early in his high school career, but their pursuit has been inconsistent. Texas wide receivers coach Chris Jackson has been in contact over the past few weeks, and Miller is considering a visit to Austin when the Longhorns host Texas Tech the day after Thanksgiving. Though they
haven't been into his recruitment as much as the other schools, a source indicated that Miller has always been intrigued by Texas. If the Longhorns make a strong and consistent push they could suddenly become heavy contenders.

Inside Texas takes a closer look at the latest on 2024 recruiting with flip targets, potential visits, and who the Longhorns staff might see on Friday in the Recruiting Humidor.

Kobe Black, CB, Waco (Texas) Connally

Texas cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph is expected in Bryan tonight to see Black during Waco Connally’s first-round playoff game against Giddings. It’s Texas versus the field in this recruitment as we enter the home stretch. With proximity, the ability to play early, and familiar friends like Jelani McDonald, Tre Wisner, and UT commit Colin Simmons, the Horns are setting the pace in this recruitment. He’ll announce his decision at a ceremony at Connally at a date to be determined, he tells Inside Texas.

Dre’lon Miller, ATH, Silsbee (Texas)

There have been rumors about Texas and Miller connecting recently. Sources tell Inside Texas that UT has reached out to the Silsbee staff, but nothing more than that. At this time, Miller isn’t considered a priority. The former Texas A&M commit told On3 on Thursday night his top four schools are LSU, USC, Colorado, and Texas A&M. The Horns are kicking the tires but that seems to be it for the On3 four-star wide receiver.

TyAnthony Smith, LB, Jasper (Texas) – Texas A&M commit

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound On3 four-star linebacker remains committed to the Aggies. But that’s not stopping Texas and linebackers coach Jeff Choate from pushing for the athletic prospect. Smith seems solid to Texas A&M’s 2024 class, but the Horns would like to get Smith back on campus over the next month.

Wardell Mack, CB/S, Marrero (La.) John Ehret – Florida commit

Inside Texas visited John Ehret Thursday afternoon. Along with the story on Inside Texas that illustrates that Texas remains very much under consideration, there was also some additional information gathered. The Florida commitment will be in Tallahassee this weekend for the Miami at Florida State game, while the Gators play close in Baton Rouge against LSU.

Steve Sarkisian and Terry Joseph remain in contact on a daily basis. Mack mentioned possibly making a visit to Texas once again prior to the December 20th signing period. IT is not sure if his schedule will permit that before the end of his school year (Mack graduates in December), per someone close to Mack. The information that continues to be heard after three stops by John Ehret now in the books is that there is at least one family member that prefers Texas, which IT previously reported prior to Mack’s commitment to Florida.

With Mack set to enroll early, the end of the recruitment is coming quickly. With Mack still considering Texas, Florida State and LSU, it’s very likely that he has filled out applications to more than one college. In fact, it’s likely he has filled out three at this point.

Xavier Filsaime, S, McKinney (Texas) High – Florida commit

Texas safeties coach Blake Gideon continues to try and chip away at the On3 Industry Ranking five-star and Florida safety commit. In speaking with a source close to the recruitment Friday morning, the Longhorns fully understand they have work to do here. If Texas is to have a real shot, getting Filsaime and his father on campus is of paramount importance. A visit wouldn’t likely happen until after the playoffs.

TJ Lindsey, DL, Bryant (Ark.) IMG Academy – Auburn commit

Lindsey and Texas have spoken again this week, as they have the past few weeks. Texas remains in the mix for the Auburn pledge, with Miami also still making an effort. This one is currently considered a longer shot than Mack, but Texas will hang around the rim and see what transpires in the next month.

Offensive line recruiting

Inside Texas reported in recent weeks that if On3 four-star guard DeAndre Carter stuck with Auburn that Texas may circle back and take a look at another offensive tackle. Texas continues to like the senior film of Texas Tech pledge Jacob Ponton. The 6-foot-7, 275-pounder attended the Texas-Oklahoma game as a guest of the Longhorns. An interesting visitor for the Texas-Kansas State game last Saturday was LSU pledge Ory Williams. The 6-foot-7, 290-pounder came to the game on his own with members of the San Marcos High football team. Inside Texas will circle back if anything were to develop with Williams. He’s locked into LSU, at this point.

During his recruitment and after committing, he always spoke of the aerospace program. After he enrolled, I checked his major listed on the roster somewhere along the way, and his major was listed as physics instead. Not sure if he ever actually was majoring in aerospace engineering or not since I didn't check it early on.
