How do you think this is helpful? Not being a jerk, just asking y'all to keep your shit together and use common sense. In any event, I know for a fact that nothing ever happens with Texas until a

He could have if he isn't. Play devil's advocate and tell us why you feel about this guy's overall approach to his recruitment and how that either translates to the next level or doesn't matter.

It's for security.

WR was seen as a sort of weak link in the class for most of the year.

We ended up with 5* Wingo, Dubose, Livingstone, and now Butler so that turned into a nice haul.

This guy seems very out of left field. When did we start recruiting him?

At least it's not "Offecal" ... that would be really shitty.

We had a win and the aggys got an aggy because only aggy would act like an aggy.

I'm sure they vetted him some, but he was just offered yesterday.

Impressive for the kid to finish HS early after not planning to until recently

Jackson swung by his school a few weeks ago.

Looks like the national 9.95ers consider Butler to be an upgrade over Hampton.

Hampton is ranked #232 & #224 on the On3 industry rankings & 247 Composite rankings, while Butler is ranked #179 & #122 in the same rankings.

Oops!

If we finish with McKinley, Bussey, and Foster we’ll have the 2nd ranked class in the nation. That’s excluding transfers.

Once 247 rankings are updated, Texas should rise past Oregon, Ohio State and Miami, and into 3rd.

Butler’s first time on campus will likely be when he enrolls next month. Sark is a wizard. Butler will be our 18th early enrollee from this class. We’re building something special here folks.

Interesting ON3 being such an outlier here.

Yeah that was the first thing I noticed. On3 has him about three tiers below everyone else as a prospect.

I bet a lot of it is that he didnt play many games this year and most likely most people at On3 didnt get eyes on him ... Cant wait till he gets ranked by them and the BOMC rides again

What’s the word on why he would forgive his senior year to get ready for college? Is this another Blue where we have to worry about how much he loves the game?

Good crash course on Butler from Bobby.

Anyone concerned about his speed should watch this video.

Now that Butler is in the sack I guess that means we ain’t getting no Bussey?

IT doesn't believe that Butler has any impact on Texas pursuit of Bussey.

Fully expected this to be a mailbox post because he's the only one who gives a damn about anything rivals based.

It's the opposite. He was playing very well this year, but decided to stop so he could take extra classes and be a spring enrollee.

Wrong thread ... so sue me 🙂

Jordan Scruggs - sticking with his CB of Trey Moore to Texas.

We do love those early enrollees.

Pretty pumped about this guy after his not being on my radar 60 hours ago.

His Calabasas teammates may have been all-

“WTF? …merde.”

But our coaches definitely love the focus on college.

There is no way to make a perfect track conversion, but here's the way I break this stuff down.

Receivers with this kids' build typically improve on their 40 times around 0.2 seconds per year in high school. But Butler only has two times posted. The time of year also factors into this. Athletes run better times in the summer. Anyway, he improved by 0.3 seconds from his sophomore to junior year. If we conservatively give him a 0.2-second improvement in his senior season, that puts him at 10.9 100 meters.

A 10.9 converts to a 4.54 forty-yard dash. It's not a perfect conversion, but it's worth noting.

He posted a 7.07 60-meter time. That converts to a 4.43 forty-yard dash.

If you watch his tape, look at his frame, and take into account that the kid isn't a full-time track star, it's easy to see he could improve his speed in college. It's easy to speculate he's faster than his limited track times.

He shows excellent balance and field vision on film.

Many on here thought Deandre Moore was slow, but I remember looking into that last year. His 100-meter conversion put him at 4.55 in the forty with a running back frame. That is on the high end of what I would call an acceptable time, especially for a physical slot.

In the Herman and Strong tenure, we recruited "4-star" receivers who couldn't break 4.7 in the forty. That's a very big problem, especially if they don't have size. These recruiting services have no idea what they're doing.

That’s a hell of a get, considering how late we entered the race.

He's gonna earn his money next year but definitely off to a promising start.

Different positions. IT is leaning pretty hard on Butler being a WR take. Bussey is a DB.

Usually recruits much prefer being a WR over DB, especially 5*s. Is Bussey fine with playing DB here over WR at aggy?
