Fuck cubicles, and the people who think they are an acceptable idea.

Still better than working in an open office space.

Depends on the height of the cubicles.  The ones in our new complex will be about 4' high.

I can do you one better. At one company I worked at, for a little while one dickhead manager thought it would be great if the projects teams sat at the trading tables. So open, no walls and next to each other like sitting at an elementary lunch table. What a dickhead.

Uh, who the hell would want to go back to the office? I've met exactly zero people who think going back in is an improvement.

I love being in the office. Motivates me more.

I wonder how many companies will realize the cost savings and productivity increase,  and encourage more people to work from home now that they know it works?

Going forward, yes. However, most businesses have already purchased their space or are in long-term leases.

I read a report last night that 75% of managers were expecting their employees to return to the office in the next 60 days.

In their eyes, if they can't see you, they can't manage you. It will take a generational change to alter this dynamic.

I can neither confirm nor deny if that was attempted once at my place of employment. Did. Not. Last. A. Month.

Oh some can’t get out of it for sure. There are places out there that can, and may do just that. Some at least downsize their footprint most likely.

It's going to take some creative real estate management to build "multi use" office space for companies that have most of their employees work from home. The Corner Office will be dead in 50 years.

Absolutely this. I hate cold call visits or you stopping by to see how we are. I'm not your fucking friend. I buy shit from you and I will let you know when I need more shit. And you wear too much cologne, fucker.

I was too cheap to pony up for a wireless xbox controller for my PC, went to Gamestop and bought a decent controller with a six foot cord. It works fine but the fucking cord has to twist itself up in 4 spots for some reason, making the effective length of the cord about a foot long. So I have to uncoil the thing every time I use it, then watch it flip back.

Go buy the wireless controller.

I'll do you one better than that.  I worked for a Palo Alto based software company for a few years where no one had and office or cubical.  It was tables laid out in rows with monitors on them.  This was everyone from the CEO on down.  Zero partitions.  There were multiple meeting rooms and conference rooms but no offices.  Weird as shit.

As a remote employee, I didn't care but I know most of the folks who worked there on a daily basis hated it.

Fortunately my boss has already told me that I can work from wherever I want to as long as I have internet connection.  He knows that I enjoy hiking, etc. and that I have a daughter and granddaughter that lives in Chapel Hill, NC so he has basically said that to go for it and work from wherever.  Prior to Covid I was on the road 30%+ of the time anyway traveling domestically and internationally.

With that said, I will probably go into the office one or two days a week just to catch up on the equipment that is being manufactured in the shop and to interface with those guys a bit more.

Wind blew over my basketball goal again, even though I had it strapped down and lowered to lowest setting.  Now I'm going to have to replace the rim.

We're nearly 20 years into the 4 oz of liquid on planes rule and I still can't buy all my stuff in 4 oz sizes. 4.7 oz of hair shit, 4.5 oz of toothpaste, would it really kill them to make it right at 4 oz?

People who want to be addressed by professional titles in non professional settings. I'm not one of your fucking students and this isn't a fucking classroom. Fuck you.

People who take "glamour" selfies in their cars then post them on social media.

Makes me surly that I'm still friends (or brother) to these people.

Yeah, and they say things like "Austin traffic is such a nightmare" when it's pretty clear they're parked in a deserted countryside.

Oh. And Lance Strong wannabe aholes who bike down 2222.

There's a bike rental place on 3rd, between Congress and Colorado. Last week, some woman was there in full Tour de France gear, having them explain to her how a bike worked.

People too easily impressed by the bigness of Texas or Houston or whatever other jurisdiction. I don't give a shit if you can fit Luxembourg plus Andorra, Liechtenstein, and Monaco inside the Grand Parkway and still have room for two San Marinos. And I am not impressed when it's 49 degrees in Dumas and 99 in Brownsville. Longitudinally speaking that tends to be how weather works. Sometimes it's cold in Nashville and hot in Miami, and the fact that they are in different states is not interesting. And after 51 years of hearing about, even as a native, I am very tired of hearing about how big Texas is.

So, did Karen pick up her drink? Was she as hot as her drink? Pics not showing up…

Or do we need to pull someone’s man card?

Inquiring minds want to know.

It was for “Edward” , so she sounds hideous.

I also hope he was charged $50 for that dessert.
