AC unit filters should be standardized.  We have 3 units all the same manufacturer installed by the same HVAC company but the filters are not standardized.

I intentionally left out that the problematic unit only cools the servants quarters in an effort not to appear uppity.

With the filters at the intake grills and not right next to the furnace assembly, it is what it is.  3 of the four intakes in our house are one size, and the fourth is a separate size.  Makes it a bitch to buy in bulk considering my wife is absolutely against having anything on hand for future use.

(no, we don't have 4 AC units, just multiple intakes scattered around the house)

So the horse stable gets the good unit? Got it.

What’s up with folks, including posters on this site, suddenly placing the dollar sign after an amount and the percentage sign before one? It seems like this is a pretty recent (and idiotic) orthographic trend around here that’s taken hold over the last year or so.

Examples:
100$ instead of $100
%100 instead of 100%

I can understand uneducated people getting confused or something, but these are supposedly college-educated or at least somewhat intelligent posters, doing this stuff, when they absolutely know better. And it is not hip or cool, if that’s why you’re doing it.

Text matches speech, where the currency is read after the value, eg “three hundred dollars”.

Theres no unassailable logic why the currency has to go first. Thats why in many Nordic and Eurozone countries, the convention is for the currency as suffixes.

Well, yeah, sure, I know how the Euros do it, as I've lived over there for a little while, but this is America, gotdammit.

Also, your explanation doesn't explain the %100 bullshit, which goes to show they're just doing it because (I assume) they saw some GenZ kids doing it.

Talk-to-text is for lazy asses.  On par with folks who say they have "read" 5 audiobooks this month.  #shakingfistatclouds

all percentages should be decimals anyway.

Examples:

I gave 1.1 but still fell short.

talking-head style videos are already as annoying as they are... the thing that makes it worse is when they fucking add repetitive zoom-cuts to it.

zoom cuts are where they constantly change the zoom level with different sentences.  it can/should be used occasionally to punctuate stuff, but their zooms are too small to be effective, but just large enough to be noticeable and annoying.

We are trying to get a visa to move to Spain for a few years. We've got everything ready but we have to make an appointment at an agency -BLS- that handles everything for the Consulate. The only option is to get on their website over and over to get an appointment. I've literally been trying every 20 to 30 minutes for the last 3 days and keep getting the massage that there are no appointments available. The interwebs say it can take weeks/months to get an appointment. So frustrating. We've got an agency looking for an apartment for us, but we can't do anything until we get our visa.

My boy is crying because we’re making him do homework “that is hard”. Granted elementary English curriculum is shit, but his lack of resiliency is pissing me off. My wife has taken over because I’m on the verge of blowing up at him.

OTOH, my daughter works her ass off. Her brother is naturally smart, but she puts in the hours to get her straight As.

I was carrying a big ass roll of plans on my shoulder and heard someone call my name across the job site. I turned my head real quick and got a paper cut on my fucking ear.

I was in the field 10 months and not a scratch. Went into the office and got a paper cut my first day.

My request for a lost-time incident was denied.

Went running during the Vandy-UT game today. Listened to the game on TuneIn radio. Modelo commercial ran 10-20 times (commercials repeating on radio and TV streams also make me surly). The commercial is talking about how the Modelo man is a force of nature, a man’s man.  Then the narrator says “you’re a force not to be reckoned with.”  Idoit.

Not sure if you know this but you can stream the game directly from the Texas athletics website on a roughly ~10 second delay from TV. I terminated my TuneIn subscription after discovering that a few weeks ago.

True story.  When my son was an infant/toddler whenever he was upset if you played anything from her album 21 he would almost immediately stop crying.  Damnest thing, he has obviously no memory of it.

CSB warning.

First house I bought the motherfuckers made me come back to the title office and put my middle initial between my first and last name on every document.  I had never before and never since signed with a middle initial.

Also, almost ever major college has the same thing for any sports that are broadcasted.  Last year, was driving for vacation and listened to a Vanderbilt baseball straight from their sports website. Listened to a Georgia football game a couple of weeks ago when I was driving from Dallas to Galveston

Get a password manager.  I do 40+ character passwords all the time.  Just remember your Password Manager password, and it does the rest for you.  Been preaching this to management for ages, to get them away from Password123 and other breached passwords.
