The day I retired I set an auto reply that said something like "As of EOB today I will be retired.  If you expect me to reply to an email after 10:00 am today, you will be disappointed."  At the 3:00

I often deal with international associates and customers.  There are times where I adjust my schedule to accommodate their preferred time for a call.  This morning I get up an extra 1-1/2 hours early for such a call.  5 minutes before the call is set to begin I get an email from them cancelling the call.

Sure that wasn't the only thing

I went on a walk with my parents towards the regional park by my house. We hear someone honking and turn around to see this kid on an electric bike getting people out of his way. He rode by at 20 mph and went straight into the regional park. At that time of day, there are a lot of people there with their dogs and kids. Fucker.

I want e-bikes to be banned. Period.

If they aren't banned, then I hope those idiots don't buckle the straps on their helmet and ride full speed into a tree.

Bruce Lee Racism GIF

One of my biggest pet peeves ever is looking up the start time of a tv program and whatever resource I’m looking at doesn’t specify the time zone of the listing. Drives me insane. Happens all the time, including most recently with a site listing the PGA tour championship tv times.

Yes. The kids asshole. Parents asshole

When you don’t pay attention…

picked up wife’s new car yesterday and noticed a spot on paint after we got home, guess we were too excited to do a walk around before signing the papers. They’ve since buffed it out this morning.

Went to Wholesale Club this morning and had coupon for creamer get home only to find they’re expired. Another trip I’ll have to make for exchange:return.

What say you about auto Crystal, Cajun  Chef,  or Valentina?

It depends.  If we're talking about a breakfast taco or a microwave burrito that's no problem.

If I spent all day making a dish that took a great deal of time and effort such as a braise, I'd be pissed off if you dumped Valentina on it.  Same shit for steak sauce.  If I spend money on a nice ribeye, I will admit to thinking less of you if you want it well done with steak sauce or catsup.

totally different.  Salting food before you taste it means you were raised on under seasoned food. Adding a hot sauce means you appreciate a certain vinegar flavor and heat level on certain foods.  Foods that you should automatically add crystal etc. to: breakfast, greens, gumbo, oysters, jambalaya, fried chicken and fish, fried okra, pizza, and boudin. Not  an exhaustive list. Valentina is an entirely different animal.

My kids and I salt our food when Mrs. Superhero cooks.

aligned on the nice cut of meat, so no worries there.  No sauce at all for me.

goulash/ stew/ and a bunch of other shit is almost certainly getting hit with the sauce.

A light sprinkle of salt enhances the flavor of the dish.

You’re behind someone going 15-20 below the speed limit either in the highway or surface street.   You go around take a glance and they are texting away or changing the address on google maps.  Phone mount people!  Actually not trivial

I'm not really excited about UT football getting ready to start because of all of the shit in my life and this country.

Sounds like you need to step away from the news and rearrange your priorities

New NETFLIX UI on apple TV.  They have gone to the large boxes that take up half the screen basically making browsing impossible/enraging.  Fits a total of 4 movies on the screen to choose from

Yet another advantage to living way out in the country in ETX.  I can't remember even one solicitor ever coming to my door in the 5 years we've lived here.

It’s the same on my FireTV and Netflix app on the smart tv itself. The new layout is horrible, and all the streaming services seem to copy each other so everything gets shittier at the same time. You can’t pause on a show thumbnail for two seconds without it starting a trailer or just straight up playing the movie. Horrible.

And the autoplay at max volume on a movie/show I DEFINITELY do NOT want to see is rage-inducing.

Would you say it gives you rage ideation?

Netflix UI is the least bad of all the major streaming services.

I do like the feature on Prime that shows you the actors names in that scene when you hit pause.  Other than that, yeah, it's terrible.

My favorite part of Prime.

YoutubeTV threatening to drop Fox networks week 1 of CFB.  Will be forced to rewatch the game on Youtube as I've got a party I can't miss from 10:30-12:30 that day.

Answer to "What share does YTTV have?"

YouTube TV's market share is growing rapidly in the virtual Multichannel Video Programming Distributor (vMVPD) market, holding over 40% of the 18.2 million vMVPD subscribers, according to Southern California News Group. Additionally, YouTube, as a whole, recently surpassed Disney to become the top media company for total TV usage in the U.S., with a share of 12.4% in April 2025 according to Nielsen's "The Gauge" report, driven by YouTube TV and its vast library of other content

I'm really tired of people who think it's funny or edgy or cool to refer to a can of Diet Coke as a "fridge cigarette."

^^^this. My running trails are my neighbor’s ATV trails in 1,000 acres of forest leading to my land. Runner’s paradise. I am unbelievably blessed.

But I have to run holding a stick in front of me. Preferably one with a fork at the end. Otherwise I’m constantly picking spiderwebs out of my teeth and eyes.

And the ticks. Ugh. The ticks that end up performing unwanted fellatio.

I've never heard that in my life.

Shared office spaces like WeWork.  Hate the culture.  There are some people here who clearly don’t need to be here they’re just lonely.   Some are very friendly and kind but others are literally eating a tuna salad in one of the phone booth. Fuck this place!!!

It was popular with the kids last week.  Probably already out of fashion.

You will eventually. It's spreading like wildfire among people who just latch onto and parrot each other's nonsense in order to affect an image.

I’ll shoot a Motherfucker who says that in my presence and pretty no jury will convict me.

I call it web walking.  A spider stick is absolutely necessary for pre-8am hikes in Texas in the summer.

Wireless printers. There are 2 in my office. One will not connect and the other won't come out of sleep mode. And fuck setting up the wireless. Mother fuckers, make this shit simple.

I have been on hikes where I could have knitted a sweater with all of the webs that I breached.
