June 16, 20214 yr 14 matches in 6 months for the USMNT. All the top players will be called in (and their club teams forced to release them). It's a fan's wet dream! https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/2021/6/15/22536127/usa-usmnt-world-cup-qualifying-opponents-schedule-dates The Octagon September 2, 2021: @ El Salvador September 5, 2021: vs. Canada September 8, 2021: @ Honduras October 7, 2021: vs. Jamaica October 10, 2021: @ Panama October 13, 2021: vs. Costa Rica November 12, 2021: vs. Mexico November 16, 2021: @ Jamaica January 27, 2022: vs. El Salvador January 30, 2022: @ Canada February 2, 2022: vs. Honduras March 24, 2022: @ Mexico March 27, 2022: vs. Panama March 30, 2022: @ Costa Rica
June 16, 20214 yr That first window, USMNT will want a location easy to get back and forth to Central America. Team flies to El Salvador then to the US then needs to turn around and fly to Honduras. We play Canada for the home match, there is a real chance that match is in Texas. We don’t play games at NFL stadiums, if the match is in Texas, Austin is likely to be the leader followed by Houston. I could also see Orlando, we’ve been playing a lot of games there lately or maybe the new stadium in Miami.

Don’t think that Austin would be in the Top 2 due to it not being an international hub. Unless US Soccer is looking to charter a plane for the Men for international flights. (The women will FUCKING LOVE that.)
June 16, 20214 yr they charter. https://thepointsguy.com/news/us-womens-soccer-team-plane-boeing-737/ thus I’ll stick with Austin or Houston, they aren’t playing in Frisco. For home field advantage, Austin would far and away be the best option.
June 16, 20214 yr Agree that Austin makes some sense for a qualifier. USSF wants to reward cities for investing in MLS and building soccer specific stadiums. That said, Canada is the one game that the US will have a home field advantage for regardless of the location so they may want to play it elsewhere and save Austin for a different opponent (Panama makes a lot of sense). Hopefully, the USSF puts Mexico in the new Columbus stadium.

They will have solid representation, but they aint getting 30%+ of any stadium in the US. Austin has an advantage of so many season ticket holders to sell to first, to help ensure a very pro US crowd. Dynamo season fan base has dwindled thanks to shit ownership and crap product. There are so many great stadiums and fanbases now, it will be interesting to see how USSF goes about picking stadiums, the crowd in Salt Lake for the Costa Rica match a week ago was excellent, have to think they get one, Also, there is a bunch a chatter about Minneapolis getting the Mexico game. I do wonder how much travel plays into this. East coast stadiums are better for the Euro based guys, especially over a West coast location.

June 16, 20214 yr Dunno if Beerholder can actually get Balogun in considering he's officially mismanaged Musah. Waive good bye to Dallas and hello to a brighter future in Europe (hopefully), Tanner!
June 16, 20214 yr 1 hour ago, Zepol87 said: I am betting on Minny for that It would definitely be "on brand" for the USSF to ignore/destroy one of the USMNT's only traditions. The closure of Crew Stadium and the loss in 2018 qualifying provides excuses. What is another USMNT tradition (other than not qualifying for the Olympics and hiring overmatched American coaches who inexplicably start a slow veteran fullback in important games)?

(And they have access to cars.) The humidity of Houston or Orlando would be the most “home field advantage”, but it may wear on our Euro-based players as well.
June 16, 20214 yr new USMNT and USWNT kits revealed. Guess they're going with the battleship camouflage approach

The Brener/De la Hoya/James Harden ownership structure has sucked. They are still have small pieces but no longer will be managing the club.

June 16, 20214 yr Author I don't see him going for 10M Euro after being left on an island year-after-year to turn in middling stats to go along with a dearth of production with the USMNT.

June 17, 20214 yr btw, whats the deal with in shape athletes wearing a bro/manzier? What is that supposed to do? I could get some PGA tour guys or PBA guys, or some MLB pitchers, but why exactly would a soccer player wear one?
