Are you trying to say Jesus Christ can’t hit a curveball?

Want us to drag him outta here? Kick the shit out of him?

Forget about the curveball Ricky, give him the heater!

Ball 4.  Ball 8.

Low, and Vaughn has walked the bases loaded on 12 straight pitches.

Harry Doyle: Monte, anything to add?

Monte: Uh, no.

Harry Doyle: He's not the best colorman in the league for nothing.

Took four posts after the Eddie Harris hanging Dapper Dan ball?  Jobu would be very angry.

What do you mean too high?

Who gives a shit about it, it’s gone.

I know some view this as a slapstick sports comedy, but it’s really a great film that holds up well after all these years. Great script, directing, casting, and music (including the songs from Randy Newman and Bill Medley). And it was great of the Cleveland Indians to okay the use of its team, instead of using some fictitious pro baseball team. It’s one of my favorite sports movies of all time.

But why didn't they let them use their stadium?

1. $ - Better tax breaks in MKE

2. Scheduling - Milwaukee only hosted the Packers 2x a year whereas the Browns were a full-time resident

3. Politics - Film was shot in 1988, during a very strong period for the Browns. Owner Art Modell probably had enough juice to keep the production out of Cleveland. I have no insight as to his role (if any), but Modell was a big swinging dick by this point.

That's all we got? One goddamn hit?

You can't say goddamn on the air!

Don't worry. Nobody's listening anyway.

The American Express Card.  Don't steal home without it...

I distinctly remember this quote from the preview that I saw as a kid in the theater, but it never made the final cut.

It made the cut for theaters I recall. But they also put it in the second one I think.

Aren't we gonna have a prayer? I mean we aren't all savages like Serrano over there.

Here’s to baseball, and to the start of two great careers. And for me, here’s to one more good year in the sun
