Michigan State graduate assistant Cordae Hankton leaving for job at Texas Updated Feb 26, 2021 Michigan State coach Mel Tucker lost a member of his staff who was also a key recruiter. Cordae Hankton, who spent the 2020 season as a graduate assistant on defense, announced via Twitter on Friday he is taking a job as a defensive analyst at Texas under new coach Steve Sarkisian. Hankton, a 32-year-old New Orleans native, has been instrumental in Michigan State expanding its recruiting footprint in Louisiana – a state the program lists only five all-time letterwinners from with the last being in the 1970s. The Spartans in February signed Keon Coleman, a three-star wide receiver from Louisiana, to their 2021 recruiting class. That was after previously having a commitment from Jah’von Grigsby, a 2021 three-star safety from Louisiana who decommitted in November and signed with Purdue in December. After playing safety at Jackson State, Hankton spent five years as a police officer in New Orleans. He spent seven years as a high school assistant coach in Louisiana before serving as an offensive graduate assistant for Tucker at Colorado in 2019. When Tucker left the Buffaloes to lead the Spartans, he brought Hankton with him. Hankton’s older brother Cortez Hankton is the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at Georgia and worked with Tucker, who was the defensive coordinator for the Bulldogs from 2016-18. Tucker lost one of his 10 on-field assistants this offseason. Safeties coach Mike Tressel in January was hired as Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator.

I don't see Malik being confused with Johnny Lam Jones anytime soon. Hopefully the ceiling for that number isn't a third round draft pick.

March 2, 20214 yr Not full suits usually, but slacks, dress shirt and tie are the norm at headquarters. Depends on which oil company really, but no matter which one you choose it wont be like Silicon Valley companies..I read about a guy who wore a gray suit at an oil company HQ and they called security called on him... In the middle of a meeting security busted in and asked if he was wearing gray slacks. That doesnt happen at an IT company.

FCB https://247sports.com/college/texas/board/21/Contents/morning-brew-sarkisians-support-staff-coming-together-161684096/ Morning Brew: Sarkisian's support staff coming together Spoiler Good Morning Horns247!! — With Texas three weeks away from starting spring football (on March 23), many of you have asked me if Steve Sarkisian will be building a support staff similar to the one Nick Saban has at Alabama? The quick answer is: No. No one has a support staff like Saban has at Alabama. Saban's support staff more closely resembles the Former College Coaches Rehabilitation Center. I mean Saban's list of former college head coaches hired as analysts include Sarkisian, Lane Kiffin, Major Applewhite, Charlie Strong and Butch Jones, among others. When it comes to support staff right now, Sarkisian is most interested in making sure his 10 on-field assistant coaches have the analysts they need to be as effective as possible. The latest example is the hiring of Henry Fernandez as a defensive analyst. Fernandez was a defensive graduate assistant at Washington with new Texas defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski the past two seasons. In February, Sarkisian also brought in special teams analyst Jeff Crosby, a former special teams assistant at Southern Mississippi under Todd Monken who was hired as a special teams analyst at Washington by Chris Petersen in 2017. Interestingly enough, Petersen hired Crosby after Southern Miss perfectly executed a fake punt against Washington in the Heart of Dallas Bowl in 2015. "Sark will be filling those analyst roles with people his coaches need and are comfortable with," a source close to the situation told Horns247. "He's not out there looking for former head coaches at this point. Saban has done that, in part, because his coordinators keep getting hired away, and some of those former head coaches have proven to be capable coordinators." Sarkisian has been busy building his support staff, including Billy Glasscock as director of player personnel, Jason Grooms as chief of staff, former Lancaster High School coach Chris Gilbert as director of high school relations and Taylor Searels as UT's new director of recruiting operations. As our Jeff Howe of Horns247 reported Sunday, Sarkisian also was able to hold onto Brandon Harris in a dual role as director of recruiting and offensive analyst working with quarterbacks after the Los Angeles Rams had approached Harris about an assistant quarterbacks coaching position.
