Lying to voters and using the infrastructure and voters of one party to gain power and then planning to immediately ditch said party after gaining power is some shady technodouche Zuckerbergian shit.

Does Mr. Yang think that revealing that information is appealing because I find it appalling.

It’s one thing for a politician to have a public and a private position on issues. Having a public and a private position on your political affiliation is another thing entirely.

Lol at the crocodile tears for the poor Democratic Party apparatus.

Yang was always a grifter politician and he’s been rather obvious about it.

I rooted around looking for a thread for Eric Adams.

I guess this will do.

That’s crazy.  Has there been smoke around Adams?  He was presented in the media as something of a law and order candidate(relative).

** just googled, yikes.  Sounds like he has a bunch of subordinates who have previously been involved in corruption and scandals who are under investigation in the last month

For years.

I haven’t paid any attention to NYC politics and the general coverage has been obviously all Trump and Harris.

After Adams became Mayor, I saw a short video of him for the first time and immediately thought the guy was a full of shit con man. I don't understand NYC politics and how this dude got elected.

If you rank NYC mayor's by corruption, Adams probably doesn't even make the Top 10.

The biggest tradition in NYC Politics is corruption itself: Exhibit A) Tammany Hall

I think the dunking on him has only begun.

In a purely neutral world, let’s keep track of how quickly these charges move compared to a certain former President.

ETA: I don’t know enough about Adams to have an opinion about his guilt or innocence at this time. If he broke the law, he should face the consequences.

No, I was told that this is “lawfare” and “election interference,” at “levels we’ve never seen before.”
Right, Trumpkins? Isn’t that the story?
OR…is the story that we should go after these criminal fucks who abuse the public trust and fry them, without regard to the letter by their name? Which is it, you pathetic, simpering, gutless, unprincipled cowards?

Cool bump to the yang thread. Brisket seems to be taking this particularly well.

I love when crooked politicians get fucked.
Trumpkins don’t.
Fuck em.

Hang ‘em all.

Hang ‘em all.

We should. But….Can’t do that. LAWFARE! ELECTION INTEFERENCE!
We have an entire political movement that is based on the foundational principle that its adherents are entirely above the law. It’s….problematic.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving individual. Well I can think of one but thats for another thread. GF's sister is a teacher and hates him. GF hates him for the shit show at the immigration centers. She was actually the first to tell me and her text was literally "This Motherfucker." Honestly can't really think of anyone that likes him.

Funny to see the Yang hate. Then again I had no clue he said he'd leave the Dems. I was lucky enough to be on a small alumni group zoom with him back when he announced his mayoral candidacy and he seemed like a decent bloke. He went MIA after the loss which I guess is a good thing.

I cast my primary votes for three women in the ranked choice system we have here. If I could’ve had 1000 choices I would not have voted for Adams. I did not vote in the general election because I was not casting a vote for this fraud. If he took bribes then by God put that guy under the prison because there was nothing about him that seemed above board before he became mayor nor after.

He hasn’t completely disappeared. He started a different party called the Forward Party that is trying to get Ranked Choice Voting implemented.

Well, he also became a both-sideser who started showing up on Fox News a lot and bashed one side in particular there for awhile.

My primary vote for Mayor was Kathryn Garcia (1), Yang (2), Wiley (3), Can't recall (4) and Adams (5).  Everyone knew Adams was going to win the nom, but Kathryn Garcia gave him a run for his money. Adams was always problematic. There were rumblings back when he declared his candidacy.

I feel like DeBlasio, as bad as he was, is probably, like, "Miss me, yet?"

Mayor Eric Adams claimed he was a victim of political persecution after he became the first sitting New York City mayor to be indicted on Wednesday — insisting he was targeted for standing up to the Harris-Biden administration as migrants flooded the city.

Of course, that's the standard response of a criminal.

The question is -- will his entire team/establishment line up behind him, like Trump's supporters have?  And for that matter, will Trump's supporters be consistent, and call THIS "political persecution" like they call each and every action involving a crooked Republican?  You and I both know what the answers to those questions are.

There have already been people in his circle that pled out. You know they are squealing. Look, when he ran, there was smoke. This should shock NO ONE.

I totally believe you and of course you’re there.  As I said earlier from a distance he was sold as, former cop get things straightened out after pandemic chaos.  The current NYT articles are scathing.  Like he is going to have to resign scathing.

He should change his party affiliation to Republican, put on a MAGA hat, and he'll have a phalanx of defenders from GOP leadership come to his rescue as he practices the GOP rules for when you commit crimes:  1) attack, attack, attack, 2) admit nothing, deny everything, 3) declare victory and never admit defeat.

He should resign.

FIF the entire GQP and everyone who votes for them.

A cop? Breaking the law? Truly who could've guessed that?
