Quick stoppage, but Lewis has the option to not eat half a dozen hard shots in the first half a minute.  Yeah, a lot of them missed, but several didn't.  Whether he was out or not is debatable, but he was definitely getting overwhelmed.

I mean maybe he takes a vicious shot coming up but he was fine up to that point, and ultimately it's fucking MMA... you fight until you can't.

Really disappointing especially coming off of the back of that 1R KO.

Lewis has not shown a lot of heart lately, hard to think that the ref didn't think that he was surrendering. But that's not a ref's job.

It's the principle, though. I'm not sure any of us think he was going to somehow win that but we're talking about a sport that has a ton of integrity. Decisions like that don't help.

Guys turtle all the time.  Derrick went down face-first in a heap after taking several shots from a 260-pounder who can really throw.

Throw back.  Wrap him up.  Do something other than get hit repeatedly and fall down face first.  Derrick bitching about that stoppage is basically saying, "Hey, he didn't kill me yet and I didn't tap!"  Okay, but it IS the ref's job to save you.  Maybe he was quick on the trigger, but Derrick did absolutely nothing to help his case for staying in that fight.

Again... it's the principle for me. It's about what the rules are. It isn't about that fight in particular or who was losing or winning up to that point. Lewis was clearly fine, but I also don't think he got robbed and I have zero issue with him losing. I just think it shouldn't have been stopped at that point. It's fine if we disagree.

Have to think Nunes takes this back here.
Longer it goes the better for Pena so if she can handle rd 1 i think she can beat her again....but thats a long 5 mins

That was an extremely unusual inside the ring face off after the interim title bout. Don't see that too often in the UFC. Then the guys didn't even sell the fight with trash talk, instead honoring the journey and the battle. Appropriate.

Giving Pena opportunity for a submittal seems dumb.

It's gotten reaaaal close twice now.

50-45....pena had her shots but didn't win a round

I thought she would be able to lock in a sub if it lasted that long

DC and Rogan are unbearable....not everything is locked in douchebags

Pena fought through a lot of adversity and kept it interesting to the end.

But credit to Nunes and her entire camp.  That was a master class in going back to the video of a loss and correcting everything.

Then he told a story in the interview about how somebody gave him 10 dollars to gamble with and he put it in a machine and quadrupled it and made $75.

Then he called out Ian Garry, which is even dumber.

Herb dean fault.

You got to put them in same position dummy

Why though? Santos was just gassing his arms with little success.

Nice last second calf kick at the bell.
