April 18, 20214 yr and of course trea turner is the one twisting the knife this week. thank god it's sunday.
April 19, 20214 yr Author i have three good 1B (Abreu, Walsh, and HOSMER?!?!), and i'm looking for an OF. I also have Biggio and Jazz who can play 2B if anyone has excess OF/needs IF talent.
April 20, 20214 yr Mine definitely sucks with top three hitters out and IL slots stashing pitchers. Keep telling myself it's a feature not a bug, and will be worth it at the end of the season.
April 20, 20214 yr Author i can't even come close to filling out a full lineup with these injuries. aye caramba this shit is annoying. Edited April 20, 20214 yr by shadow_operative
April 25, 20214 yr Shitass Petfuckers hooking me up with some shitass managerial decisions. Bieber and Bassitt on the bench today, thanks for that.
April 26, 20214 yr On 4/23/2021 at 12:52 PM, APMP said: BTC down to 50k, we buy yet? it got down to 47k earlier today, then bounced up over 5k. we doing this? should i just buy tomorrow?
April 27, 20214 yr placed a buy order this morning, trying to catch it closer to $54k. may end up settling for $54.5 just to get it done. you guys can venmo me whenever to reimburse it. i'll post our pricing when it happens, then we can track it during the season.
April 27, 20214 yr So DQA about bitcoin... Since it's 54k for one coin, and we have a whopping 1200 bucks, I assume you can buy a fraction of a coin?
April 27, 20214 yr So if it tanks, are we all fucked? Or is someone gonna pony up and pay the winners out of pocket?
April 27, 20214 yr here is my proposal: the pool is $1200 ($100 per team). i'm going to purchase $1200 of btc hopefully around $54k in the next few days. yes, you can buy fractional shares, and we will own like .022 shares. when payouts come in late sept, i will sell whatever we have, and that will be the new pot (we'll just keep the same percentages for payouts). if you do not wish to participate, please let me know when you send me the venmo, and i will make sure your winnings are intact as if this never happened. i will offer that personal guarantee. ideally, we turn $1200 into $1400 or something relatively modest, and just have a slightly bigger pot and something fun for everyone to root for. if btc goes all crazy, then shit, maybe we turn $1200 into $2500. i will post the screenshot of our purchase when it happens, and update it periodically, so that everyone can be involved. **one caveat - as of now, i plan on buying and leaving it alone. if for whatever reason, good or bad, we want to cash out before october, we can have that discussion. does that sound good to everyone?
April 29, 20214 yr Author re: the league trophy, what's the official name going to be? The Rickerson Memorial Trophy?

May 1, 20214 yr Author my offense sucks; my pitching is pretty good; some of y'all have more hitters than you can start; let's make a deal.
May 1, 20214 yr Anybody interested in a top 5 closer? I'm thinking about punting saves outright, so Edwin Diaz is available for a worthwhile bat (my team is Viking Quest).
May 3, 20214 yr Author yeah i've posted this before, but claiming some of your players as "off limits" is just plain stupid. i've never owned a player who was off limits, and i never will. if someone else in the league really really wants one of my players, i'm not going to come to the thread and make some snarky post about how my players are off limits, i'm going to see what all that guy is willing to give up to get him, especially if he's a starting pitcher who will appear for my team a total of 25-30 times for the entire season, assuming he never gets hurt or suspended. but hey, maybe that's just me. after all, nobody here has won this league more times than i have, so what do i know? May 3, 20214 yr Author just something to think about: you currently have Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer. each one of those guys is worth 2-3 good-great players from another team. for either one of those guys you could probably get, say, a top 20 SP, a top 5 closer, and a top 15 OF; or maybe a top 20 SP, and two top 35-40 overall hitters, many of whom can play multiple positions. so then, why shut down all trade talks before they even begin? is Cole + three other studs not worth more than Cole and Bauer? what if Bauer (or Cole) ends up hurt or suspended? wouldn't it have been a good idea to cash in one of those guys? May 3, 20214 yr I'm not a fan of ESPN's trade interface. You can't explain why you are declining a trade, which is usually a help to me if I was the one that made the offer.
May 3, 20214 yr Be wary saying anything about Derka trades. I'm pretty sure Albies is still batting .500 with 42 HR and 40 SB after I bashed him last year. Edited May 3, 20214 yr by UTPhil2006
May 3, 20214 yr LOL they weren't bad trades. Just every guy I ever get from you breaks his hip or something a week after I get him.
May 3, 20214 yr Author some guys just can't handle being traded away from the ole Derkmeister. if they can't play for me, they won't play for anyone. i'm charming like that.
