That was my read of it as well, but it's also a pretty dumb take considering our OL is struggling with picking up blitzes and also not very effective in the run game. We will absolutely need a good performance from our QB to win at A&M.

November 7, 20241 yr It’s not all stats either. Just using my eyes and watching a lot of college football, we are a salty unit. They’re actually getting better to me from week to week. And I was one that didn’t believe early in the year. But they righted the ship and gotten better. I think lole playing more snaps has actually helped the defensive line. Hope he stays healthy for stretch run. Would like for offense to blow someone out so we can get snaps for the young’ens please.

You mentioned Burke, I feel like he's been quiet this season. Thought he'd be a QB mauler by now. Yeah, me too, but he's quietly been pretty good considering we're rotating so many Edges. He's not putting up the sacks like I thought, but he's been a disruptor.

November 11, 20241 yr I worry about ARK more than ATM offensively. Like every defense, we are susceptible to the physical run game esp with mobile qb ( Hey LSU, maybe you'll figure out zone read this year) Seeing JQJ at RB for ARK is not great Bob. Now, like FL, the trick is to get a two score lead, then all that run game stuff get's diluted to the point it don't matter. If we get good 1st Quarter Quinn, our D will be just fine.

I know you're joking, but a while back someone did an analysis of which statistics correlared the most with wins. The top 2 were: 1. Defensive scoring (aka the Royal was Right, you don't lose many games if your opponent doesn't score stat) 2. QB turnovers. Even if your QB is otherwise shit, if he doesn't fumble or throw picks, you're gonna win games. On 11/9/2024 at 6:27 PM, kingkoopa6 said: What’s the deal with coach. This depth is unprecedented at Texas at least for 40 years. It’s pretty rare for any team in the past 40 years for that matter. And likely in the entirety of college football history. Probably the UGa and Bama teams of the past decade or so.

November 15, 20241 yr JQJ will be limping into this game. Their other RB (the 250 lbs monster) will probably get most of the carries. They'll be run-oriented since Green isn't really accurate and he's prone to turnovers. Their best WR is Andrew Armstrong, the rest are meh and drop balls. Their backup TE Haaz is decent. Their defense is an abortion. We should quite honestly have absolutely zero issue with this team. Their RZ offense is something like 110th in the country. They're so bad.

Using total yardage to determine the best offense in 2024 is certainly a choice. They put up huge yards against terrible teams. They’re much worse against good defenses, and they’re very turnover prone. FEI has them as the 5th best offense we’ve faced. If you factor in UF’a injuries, Arky is the 4th best offense we’ve faced. 23 minutes ago, westexhorn said: I know their defense is bad but I'm expecting the version that bottled up Tennessee. Huh? Nico has been bad this year, and Tenn struggles to pass the ball, which is Ark’s weakness. We will be able to pass on them. No way they shut us down like they did Tenn.
November 15, 20241 yr 5 hours ago, westexhorn said: I know their defense is bad but I'm expecting the version that bottled up Tennessee. Tennessee isn't a good team. They got the benefit of the doubt, but Nico is a turnover machine. They have a good defense, but we would beat that Tennessee team by 3 TD's at worst. They're just average this year. With another year I think Nico can take that next step, but he's still basically mentally a teenager and doesn't understand coverages.
