If Overshown can clean up his missed tackles, he will be a TFL machine. That guy gets behind the line in a flash.

Found tweets of most of the deep plays. Here's the breakdown for each.      Play 1 (69 yarder): It's Cover 1 Man.  Jamison is in man on the outside WR and does well until he quits

Bryan Jones on the Horn right now just ripping this defense a new one. Not about the scheme but about the 11 pussies we have on the field that run from contact.  They'll probably put the interview in their podcast section must listen to

Same with TCU. Played well up until their final offensive drive on defense. It really does appear that when the offense struggles just a little the defense also struggles a lot. It has bitten us twice now in both of the losses.

That was true of Tech as well.

It’s not tackling that’s his problem. He’s really bad at reading plays and having gap integrity. Improving mentally is what will unlock his potential.

Yeah, Jones was even more twisted than normal.  Doubtful he'll see Moncrief anytime soon after referring to the defensive players as "bitches". He's especially not a very big fan on Brockermeyer.

FCB...    (Behind paywall)

Gary Patterson does not approve of that workload.

Most of our guys are content to dance with their blockers or try to run around them. Not enough are willing to engage or blow up guys. Cook manhandled Stoops on a couple of plays when he tried to block him. Foster fared much worse.

hard for a linebacker to respect another linebacker who got pancaked by a wide receiver

Exactly, the way to blow up the counter is blow up the lead pulling blocker, we just sat back and let them have clean shots.

Foster is such a god damned liability. He was in position to stop their FR QB in the backfield, misses the tackle and the guy runs like 60 yds to the house. It’s unbelievable how many times we had their backs against the wall.

So @OnAComputer

What history does PK have running a 4-3 defense ???

None. I’m not calling for 4-3. I calling for PK to use the LB to emphasize the DL. Have the LB eat blocks while the DL pins their ears back

If you are gonna give Foster harsh criticism for blOU performance, you better do the same for Jerrin Thompson's terrible job tackling in the blOU game too...

DAMN --Thx for quick response   👊😎

Any other teams come to mind that you can provide examples of who use LBs to eat blocks in a 3-4.

(I would like to review film of what you are describing... )

Jerrin Thompson missed the tackle. Jerrin Thompson also let Marvin Mims sit alone in the back of the end zone while Josh Thompson tried to cover two receivers.

Funny thing I just noticed, there is no "D" in Kwiatkowski!

BJ Foster is indeed a liability, but that was Jerrin (announcer was wrong). BJ was chasing after Caleb 5 yards behind him.

Agreed.  It's really weird to rewatch because the game came down to giving up way too many huge plays, but playing well the other 90% of snaps.  We pretty much smothered their zone rushes and those were the bulk of their plays.

Someone posted in the game thread that 330 of their yards came on 7 plays…

This is correct

Thompson definitely deserves a lot of criticism but he’s only a soph. Foster has regressed every year he’s been here

Didn’t realize that and those are the explosive plays that Mack Brown use to talk about that win games.

If HORNS can get out of DKR tomorrow with a win over okie lite, might see this defense start improving in the 2nd half of B12 season.

The bye week is a really important time for PK and the defensive coaches to clean up some of the reoccurring mistakes on defense.

So how many yards does the Texas defense surrender tomorrow? 500?

Yeah Brian says no leadership or holding each other accountable on defense, and nobody on defense is striking, hitting, or tackling worth a crap.  Also criticized Overshown for constantly losing track of where the ball was and running himself out of too many plays.

BJ basically said the TEXAS defensive players are playing like bunch of...

Yeah we need Bryan to come back and give the pregame speech. A more brutal version of the Ted Lasso pregame.  Sorry only link i could find fast forward to 1:30

In the second half, but I think we hold them under 450 in the first.

Also kinda funny what Brian Jones says should happen to a blOU WR who attempts to block down on a LB...

“…watching little wide receivers throw your linebackers to the ground…”

Yep.

True, very.

And a very small WR.

Honestly, if we went 4 down up front with Collins in at DE and just slowed the run, I’d be happy. Even if we give up a shitload of pass yards, at least we limit some aspect of the opposing offense.

Four DL with Collins on the field seems like it works. It’s not that fucking difficult.

This guy sucks.

when you have the announcers bewildered at what you are calling... well, that says it all

The 3-4 is trash especially in college. The fact that this guy can't adjust is laughable.
He had success at previous stops because he played shitty teams that's the only explanation.

This defense can’t stop shit. Just run left if you’re an opposing offense. Literally can’t stop anything

Y'all gonna blame pk after this offense ate a bag of dicks? Defense played well until the 4th how many 3 and outs does it take to break a D
