Just finished it. Fucking loved it. Easily the best giant monster combat of any movie I’ve seen. Last 30-45 minutes slam and go hard.

God yes it was amazing

Makes you wonder why they cheaped out and didn't use the real Godzilla and Kong.

Those dudes can't act for shit.

I dozed off in the middle. Don't think I missed much.  From what I saw, Skull Island is still the best movie by far but this was definitely number two.

I guess it works in their favor that they didn't give a shit about anything other than monster fights.

My 8th grader did comment that the mom scientist was racist for making her daughter wear her island tribal clothes well after adoption. Lulz.

Didn't they set up Charles Dance to be the big baddie at the end of the Godzilla movie? He was nowhere to be found.

Couldn't they give Demian Bichir a more believable last name than Simmons?  Why not rename the character once you select a Mexican actor?  I guess he could've been from Belize where there are plenty of Belizeans with English last names.

Paused it at their first confrontation...  not too impressed so far.  I mean, can't we have some good ol' fashioned monster movie without fucking kids in it, GDit?!  The snooty chick is hot though.  Will finish it later today.

I'm sick of all these movies being in the dark, usually in the rain. I know it's makes the CGI cheaper to do since you can minimize detail but visually it sucks.

I had this on in the background while working.  I though the city fight scene was really well done and stunning to watch visually.  I will have to go back and watch again.

Same reason I turn the lights off when I bang your mom.

Garbage imo.  The best acting was from Kong/Godzilla and they're CGI.  It's worth a watch if you're fan, otherwise don't bother.

I thought it was great.

For sure much better than I was expecting.

Could have used more Eiza Gonzalez though.

Not sure what was up with the RDj/Pacino/Montalban villain.   700 million people in HK, it's in ruins and dad/daughter find each other no problem...  garbage.

Coworker went to see it last night and couldn't stop raving about it this morning.

Ok this film was totally unrealistic.

I know, right?

I expect my movies about giant fighting monsters who came from the hollow center of the Earth to be much more realistic.

They really tried to hide Skarsgaards cum gutters with those terrible wardrobe choices. LIKE I DONT KNOW WHATS UP UNDER THERE.

Oh I would have liked that movie even more then.

Pure unadulterated trash that brought me pure unadulterated joy. Endlessly rewatchable as both an action and comedy flick.

I liked it but for some reason get hung up on the whole ‘the center of the earth is hollow and that’s where monsters come from’ thing.  It’s like making time travel a plot element in every Star Trek movie when flying around in a spaceship blowing shit up is cool enough already

I half assed expected a Kong/Zilla high five at the end.

Only disappointment was the mutual decision to not finish the fight by the monsters after they took down MechaStreisand. The 1962 film actually had a winner. Was hoping for the same outcome here.

Kong was done if not for the...  wait for it...  defibrillator.

Spoiler

Pretty clear Godzilla was the victor here

My only complaint is that this didn’t start blasting at the appropriate time:

If you’ve already seen the movie, you know when.

I mean that opening, with the song, thought I was going to watch a Shrek parody at first.

The fights reminded me of that Dave Chapelle Blackzilla skit.

Best movie I've seen all month.  I hope they put a grate or something over the hole to the middle of the earth, though.  Seems dangerous.

It was solid. I basically called the entire plot on the podcast but that’s what I wanted it to be. Less humans more monsters

Lol...i thought it was ok. Entertaining enough.

I did like the part right before they found each other where she used a landline in hong kong to call her dad...wtf lmao

Husband and I liked it. It was entertaining. Acting was awful, but all I cared about were the mega fight scenes.

My nephew and I went to see it last week. We both figure they are out of ideas. The HyperLoop to Hong Kong was pretty bad.

Fun.  Watched it last night on HBO MAX.  Good Sunday wind down movie with zero expectations.

It was basically Transformers with Megatron's brain taking over his new body.

Godzilla burning a hole from Hong Kong to the center of the Earth seems like a very bad thing.

Every time they show Godzilla in the movie he looks like an angry fat man in cargo Jorts
