April 1, 20214 yr Absolutely fantastic! This is going into my action movie rotation along with predator, matrix, Rambo, etc. Loved every second.
April 1, 20214 yr I dozed off in the middle. Don't think I missed much. From what I saw, Skull Island is still the best movie by far but this was definitely number two. I guess it works in their favor that they didn't give a shit about anything other than monster fights. My 8th grader did comment that the mom scientist was racist for making her daughter wear her island tribal clothes well after adoption. Lulz. Didn't they set up Charles Dance to be the big baddie at the end of the Godzilla movie? He was nowhere to be found. Couldn't they give Demian Bichir a more believable last name than Simmons? Why not rename the character once you select a Mexican actor? I guess he could've been from Belize where there are plenty of Belizeans with English last names.
April 1, 20214 yr Paused it at their first confrontation... not too impressed so far. I mean, can't we have some good ol' fashioned monster movie without fucking kids in it, GDit?! The snooty chick is hot though. Will finish it later today.
April 1, 20214 yr I'm sick of all these movies being in the dark, usually in the rain. I know it's makes the CGI cheaper to do since you can minimize detail but visually it sucks.
April 1, 20214 yr I had this on in the background while working. I though the city fight scene was really well done and stunning to watch visually. I will have to go back and watch again.

April 1, 20214 yr Garbage imo. The best acting was from Kong/Godzilla and they're CGI. It's worth a watch if you're fan, otherwise don't bother.
April 1, 20214 yr I thought it was great. For sure much better than I was expecting. Could have used more Eiza Gonzalez though.
April 1, 20214 yr Not sure what was up with the RDj/Pacino/Montalban villain. 700 million people in HK, it's in ruins and dad/daughter find each other no problem... garbage.

They really tried to hide Skarsgaards cum gutters with those terrible wardrobe choices. LIKE I DONT KNOW WHATS UP UNDER THERE.

April 2, 20214 yr I get the feeling that kong watched a lot of wrestlemania to prepare for this role.
April 2, 20214 yr Pure unadulterated trash that brought me pure unadulterated joy. Endlessly rewatchable as both an action and comedy flick.
April 2, 20214 yr I liked it but for some reason get hung up on the whole ‘the center of the earth is hollow and that’s where monsters come from’ thing. It’s like making time travel a plot element in every Star Trek movie when flying around in a spaceship blowing shit up is cool enough already
April 2, 20214 yr Only disappointment was the mutual decision to not finish the fight by the monsters after they took down MechaStreisand. The 1962 film actually had a winner. Was hoping for the same outcome here.

April 2, 20214 yr My only complaint is that this didn’t start blasting at the appropriate time:If you’ve already seen the movie, you know when.
April 2, 20214 yr I mean that opening, with the song, thought I was going to watch a Shrek parody at first.
April 3, 20214 yr Best movie I've seen all month. I hope they put a grate or something over the hole to the middle of the earth, though. Seems dangerous.
April 4, 20214 yr It was solid. I basically called the entire plot on the podcast but that’s what I wanted it to be. Less humans more monsters
April 4, 20214 yr Not sure what was up with the RDj/Pacino/Montalban villain. 700 million people in HK, it's in ruins and dad/daughter find each other no problem... garbage. Lol...i thought it was ok. Entertaining enough. I did like the part right before they found each other where she used a landline in hong kong to call her dad...wtf lmao
April 4, 20214 yr Husband and I liked it. It was entertaining. Acting was awful, but all I cared about were the mega fight scenes.
April 5, 20214 yr It was pretty good. I was entertained. That said, Freddy vs Jason is still my favorite versus movie.
April 5, 20214 yr My nephew and I went to see it last week. We both figure they are out of ideas. The HyperLoop to Hong Kong was pretty bad.
April 5, 20214 yr Fun. Watched it last night on HBO MAX. Good Sunday wind down movie with zero expectations. It was basically Transformers with Megatron's brain taking over his new body.
April 6, 20214 yr Godzilla burning a hole from Hong Kong to the center of the Earth seems like a very bad thing.
April 6, 20214 yr Every time they show Godzilla in the movie he looks like an angry fat man in cargo Jorts
