He later also had the 2nd longest indoor mark.

Thats awesome.  Barnes' shit is all tainted, really don’t know how he was still considered a record holder tbh

Knocked the cheating aggy off the world record spot.

So bad ass, flawless technique. I was a very mediocre shot putter in high school and there was a guy in our district that could spin and it looked like it was shot out of a cannon. He was regularly in the 62-65' range in high school, he was only about 235. We would go to practice and try to spin and our coach would just laugh at us because we had no idea that we weren't athletic enough to pull that off.

And they didn't get a steel tape out there and measure it??

Idiots

Crouser knew instantly it wasn’t a WR and it was a measuring equipment failure.

Ran across this cool video about Ryan.  Amazing career.

Why isn't that fence further back?

Made ESPN's front page.

Quote

Two-time Olympic champion Ryan Crouser demolished his own shot put world record on Saturday, throwing for 23.56 meters at the Los Angeles Grand Prix.

The American surpassed his previous world record of 23.37 meters, which he achieved at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon in June 2021.

Crouser is the only man ever to throw further than 23.50 meters and he punched the air as he sent one ricocheting off the back barrier, reaching the record-breaking mark on his fourth attempt at the Continental Tour Gold event.

He put the field on notice with opening attempts of 23.23 and 23.31 meters, which would both count among the top six farthest attempts produced in the event.

77’ 3.5”!!

Holy moley!

I remember how amazing it was when Parry O’Brien was the first to break the 60’ “barrier”.

They better move that 24 meter wall back to 25.

He's working through a new technique so he may not be done yet. This dude is so freaking explosive and smooth, yet so massive

His current world record (77’ - 3&3/4”).

It's gotta be tough to be Joe Kovacs; three straight Silver behind the GOAT.
