I got mine at Walgreens yesterday. They pharmacy tech said they'd been turning people away and I told him my BMI qualified me as obese and that should be enough. This guy was well beyond three bills. So I guess it's all relative, and he continued to work his way down the list of comorbidities. But in the end, he got me COVID and Flu shots lined up and into my arm. A friend went to CVS and got his no appointment and no questions asked. I was there earlier picking up a script for my kid (already had the Walgreens appt) and the tech was encouraging COVID and flu vaccines. So in this part of Texas, at least, CVS seems to be the way to go. Edited September 9Sep 9 by dcbc

September 17Sep 17 Author Got the covid vax today about 2 pm (Pfizer). Feel kind of achy and maybe slightly feverish. About to take some aspirin and go to bed. As I was leaving, somebody who looked about my age (59) + maybe 5 or so years came into the pharmacy asking about RSV vax. Do I need to get that one too?

I did this deal last friday, as well as adding a Pneumonia vax, since I've got asthma. Had the same response, for 24 hours I was fucking floored, and by Sunday I was pretty much fine. Shakes and sweats Friday night sucked balls. The pneumonia shot, Jesus...I got just that one in my right arm, and the nurse said "this definitely will be sore for a couple days." It felt like a fucking donkey kicked my arm by Friday night. It was so sore I couldn't sleep on that side of my body for 2 days, and it's now 5 days later and my arm is still slightly sore. Nuts.

Correct, Texas doesn't require a script YET, but if you don't answer that you have a pre-approved list of comorbidities, they will turn you away.

Or just ask your doctor's office for a covid vaccine shot. The doctor can sign off on it without you claiming to have a condition that you don't.

Yes, but Walgreens and CVS are a lot closer. It's like voter suppression, the harder you make it for me to get a vax, the less likely I am to do it.

And costs will go up for them as insurance companies will use this as loopholes to not cover them since after all, they're now not necessary for most.

September 17Sep 17 Meta study of long Covid suggests over a third of humans, worldwide, suffer from the condition. Quote A total of 429 studies were meta-analyzed. The global pooled long COVID prevalence was 36% (95% confidence interval [CI], 33%–40%) with 144 contributing studies. https://academic.oup.com/ofid/article/12/9/ofaf533/8244677?login=false

September 23Sep 23 Got flu shot Sunday afternoon, arm didn't hardly hurt this time. Maybe because I'm becoming more dead inside. Was going to also get Covid vax but chickened out as it usually knocks me on my ass, especially since I was still battling hair of the dog. Been looking for a while to find Novavax around town, but no luck. That one's supposed to have the fewest/least/whatever side effects.

I got the DPT in my left arm Friday because my tetanus vaccine was decades ago. I got the senior flu shot with the extra adjuvant and the Pfizer COVID-19 shot in my right arm the same day. As the nurse predicted, my tetanus shot arm remains a bit sore, but the flu and Covid injection site soreness is mostly gone two days later. I had absolutely zero side effects other than the small injection site pain. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
September 28Sep 28 Nice. I got TDAP and Covid in my left and flu in my right on Friday. Still feeling it two days later. Not as bad as yesterday, but not great.
