I'll call it.  Show sucks this season.  Everyone is phoning it in

Bad call. You must be a Big 12 ref.

I’d rather have Larry argue about optometrist vs ophthalmologist than the Pirate’s Booty on the floor.

Anyone notice how many times characters kept saying “I really appreciate it” in the last episode.

I enjoyed it. The “he’s a decent klansman” had me rolling

The entire Pirate's Booty thing was completely lost on me ...

The Leon watermelon thing with his buddy from the Whole Foods was funny ... more Leon always good.

Where did he go?

I think he's getting a gun.

Pretty solid episode but it had some parts that were over the top petty topics even for this show lol. The pirate booty was kinda funny bc they made it sound funny, but I didn't get the context of it...is that a jew thing to not litter?

Klansman plot cracked me up.  When he took Woody to the farm I was rolling.  "Woke Farm" "Rebecca" "I usually just call him a racist cocksucker"

The vision testing we can all relate to...1 or 2? ok how about 3 or 4? lol

I liked the ep.  Larry quoting "Fiddler on the Roof" when the klansman mentioned "tradition" was good. And yeah the pirate's booty thing amused me when Larry brought it up at temple, and just because of how they had to keep saying "pirate's booty".

Season has been down but that Klansman episode was top notch and quintessential example of a Curb episode.  I had no idea what a Pirate's Booty was.  Apparently some kind of cheese puff snack.

Reminded me of @Ghost of LL singing it in my office.

Curb is funniest when Larry inadvertently says or does what we all want to do but can't bc of basic human social rules and decorum...the dinner party toast reaction, "one or two", black people should be able to eat watermelon free from judgement, etc.

for me it's least funny when he's just intentionally being confrontational or an asshole.

Larry as our collective Id.

You’ve never seen someone drop something on the floor and thought they were an asshole for not picking it up? As Larry said, it’s the entitlement. Kinda like assholes who are too good to pick up their dog’s shit.

If she looks like Kaley Cuoco she can drop shit wherever she wants.

I get it. I guess I was just distracted by the focus on it being Pirate's Booty. I mean we've bought it for the kid's, but did not realize it had reached zeitgeist.

Not a great episode. I think we're stuck with endless cameos for the rest of this season, but I wish it wasn't so.

Well I had to try it.  And I have to say, pretttyyyy, pretty good.

I guess I am in the minority and really liked that episode. I felt it was closer to a Seinfeld type episode than a Curb episode.

I also liked it a lot.  I don't know how you couldn't laugh at Larry blowing the horn at the end.

That episode killed.  And any of you that haven't had or seen pirate booty obviously don't have kids.  My son could live on that shit

Not sure if I am getting the line right but when Larry asked Suzie if she knew anyone that had a cow and she responded "what am I, Little House on the Fucking Prairie" was fantastic.

Lol’d more rewatching w the wife.

Larry and Jeff arguing about the name Jessie for a cow.

“Oh yes. Larry milk”

”I got milky fingers”

“Yea he has picture of Nancy Pelosi on his tractor.”

Classic bullshitting by Larry

Funny how many funerals have been a part of Seinfeld and Curb.

This was a good episode. I like it when he follows the Seinfeld formula. Just day to day life of Larry instead of a multi episode narrative.

I need one of those Dallas Omni umbrellas.

Great episode. Finally, someone calling out people on this bullshit praying crap. I mentioned it in the things I don’t get thread awhile back. Like what is the threshold for prayers that god is like “ok cool, we got the 3,000 prayers, I’m gonna let Kevin survive his ass cancer”. Lulz.

We all know god is busy picking super bowl winners anyway.

Episode was classic gold! All the petty bullshit adds up and comes back to shit on him lol

But fuck a restaurant for trying to keep my umbrella.  Lol wtf.

Agreed. Larry getting comeuppance for being Larry always delivers. That's his genius - making 10' of gold out of taking a hotel umbrella.

That was a great episode in an otherwise meh season. For 10 years, I never knew what the sushi chefs were  yelling at us when we entered Kaneyama. Now I do! Irasshaimase!

His facial expressions while Larry was on the phone with the limo service operator cracked me up. And then as soon as he hangs up, Leon says, "You tapping that ass?".

“That mfer gona need a crane!” Had us rolling..simple joke but the delivery lol

Has Leon been out of the house this season?

Just to buy watermelon iirc....

There are no lies in optometry.

Tracey Ullman, greatness.

Who knew that Jay Riemenschnider would go from eating horse meat to becoming mayor of Santa Monica?  Quite the meteoric rise.

Anyone feel like the open scene between him and and Richard Lewis wasn’t scripted at all? Just the two of them going at each other and giving each other shit?

Like Larry looked like he was really laughing like an SNL skit or something. Looked like he was actually having fun.

Most of the scenes involving people playing themselves (Richard Lewis, Jason Alexander, Wanda Sykes, Ted Danson, et. al.) are completely unscripted.  They're barely outlined.  Actors playing fictional characters on the show are frequently given more of an outline and some scripted lines, then typically allowed to roam free beyond that.

The perfect examples are Bob Einstein and J.B. Smoove (Leon).  Both were intended for smaller roles over a few episodes but the scenes between them and Larry were beyond anything anyone envisioned so they stayed and were allowed to go completely free-form with Larry and others.  Obviously, there's the core-four---Cheryl, Larry, Susie, and Jeff.  For several seasons, I doubt they even have an outline or rehearse at all; they are all on a magic plane of comedy.  Just a handful of takes and they pick the one where nobody was laughing too hard or blocked incorrectly.

And yeah, no idea how Jay R. went from eating horse meat to the mayor of Santa Monica.  He's just waiting to be #metoo'd.  It gets out on social media that decades ago, Jay illegally purchased horse meat from his butcher, a very pro-animal rights town like Santa Monica is gonna lose their shit and recall him.

"we have a real obligation imbalance."
