Some interesting roster decisions around the sport...

Jay Bruce is NYY’s starting 1B, Voit out at least a month.

Jed Lowrie will be Oak’s 2B until he dies again.

Taylor Trammel is either Sea’s starting LF or CF, depending on Lewis’ health.

Wash’s 3B will be the immortal Josh Harrison after Kieboom got sent down.

This throw deserves the MLB thread.

  • So in 2009, my daughter and I were in Omaha at the CWS.  I got an email from her softball coach saying that they had a kid drop off the All-Star team and would she want to replace her?  But she'd have

They also dumped Yasmany Tomas.  Maybe LaRussa can pick him up much cheaper this time

^ All their position player moves yesterday were fun, especially for Ranger followers.

Right-handers Aaron Barrett, Paolo Espino, Javy Guerra and Todd Peterson, catchers Welington Castillo, Brandon Snyder and Blake Swihart, infielder Adrían Sanchez and outfielders Gerardo Parra and Carlos Tocci were re-assigned to Minor League camp.

Infielder Jake Noll was designated for assignment, and left-hander TJ McFarland and outfielder Yasmany Tomás were released from their Minor League contracts.

2021 and I still don't care for Opening Day being on a weekday.   Starting a new role at work so very good chance I don't see much of it live this year.  </whine>

Looking for 1 for our roto league...still working out the draft day/time....thread in Gambling board.

Back to your regularly scheduled baseball discussion.

I would tell Lindor to pound sand if he thinks he’s going to get more than Trout or Betts. He’s good but not near their level

Edited by TonyTexas

Sounds like Lindor wants to hit the market

In what world is Lindor worth more than Betts, especially in the uncharted post COVID baseball economics era.

Yeah, that's not why everyone hates your ass.

I look forward to having baseball again in 2023 because there is no way these fucks get it together in time for next season.

Excited to see my Buccos get eliminated from the POs on Opening Day.

Let's fucking go!

Shockingly, Adelberto Mondesi starts the season on the IL. It sucks hard to be a Royals fan.

All you Rangers fans can lick my taint. Did I do that right @Sbbruin?

Flying out to Wrigley. Opening Day bitches!

Man, I'm jealous.  In all the games I've been to at Wrigley, only made one Opening Day.  with all deference to Fenway Park, Dodger Stadium, et. al.  There is absolutely nothing in sports in terms of physical beauty of Wrigley Field on the first day of baseball.  Murphy's opens up in about 90 minutes.  See your way there and enjoy.  Post a pic if you can.

Will do!  A bit chilly but supposed to be not a cloud in the sky by Gametime

I enter the season with a bit of optimism.  The Dodgers may just be OK this year.

At least the Dodgers will have real competiton for the division this year. I'm hoping Dodgers-Padres lives up to the hype.

Everything aside, Happy Opening Day everyone.  I always learn something from most of you on this thread, so thanks to all who participate. Here's to baseball.

So do I.  Baby brother Padres really went all in.  As long as the Giants languish in mediocrity, I'm happy.

Well, we almost made one day.

And Balt/Bos is off for rain.

IIRC, this Mets game was the only game in the 6pm timeslot.  Way to go, MLB.  Nice scheduling.

Welp, me too.

Starting to root for the Yankees because of that ridiculous bouncing spaz of a relief pitcher for the Jays.  Stop the Crossfit squats and just throw the pitch.

Edit:  Better

From your drunken lips to the baseball god's ears.  You got to see Texas-Ex Brandon Workman pitch just now for the Cubs.  Hope you threw up a Hook 'Em, before you threw up.  ;)

Lulz at the Yankees being playoff contenders. Shittastic performance today.
