  • Bullshit.  It's a dick move to knowingly jump in the express line with more items than allowed.  People get in that line to move quick.  It is their business if you fuck that up.

Can neither confirm or deny such thing.

Too highbrow for my tastes, slippers will most likely come from the clearance bin at Walmart.

Those were probably worn by the fine gentlemen who had a friendly chat with Leno before he fell down the hill behind the Hampton Inn.

Walmart? Are you poor?

I got my last pair of slides from Ross. And yes they're a size too small.

Does anyone else remember in the late 1990s Scottie Pippen shilled a pain relieving medical device that was literally a spark igniter you have on a gas grill — you’d just zap it on your body to supposedly heal it.

Then he was on that incredibly stupid magnet/copper bracelet trend, and then he also sold some gingko biloba herbal medicine.

i used to wear bright red pajamas. I went into the wrong stairway at my hotel in Vienna and ended up on the streets downtown before I could make my way back to my room. The first person I saw outside the hotel asked, in a thick SoCal accent:

"Are you Lenny Kravitz?"

I am white.

Minnetonka Double Deer moccasins cover my feet daily in the house. None of this plastic-soled sheep-lined nonsense for me; just pure, soft, supple buckskin.

I might put liners in em on cold floor days but otherwise this is the Way

Mukluks with over-the-calf solid wool boot socks and deerskin soles. Thousand year old Topsiders for warm weather. Last couple of mukluks from in-laws in Minnesota, real stuff.

Apparently Stouffer's never made Stove Top Stuffing. It's always been Kraft. Stouffer's Stove Top Stuffing does not exist

So the American kid.

What explains the phenomenon where the west side of the city is nice and expensive and the east side is poor and slummy.

Its true for every city ive lived in and every city i know about

I’m 63 and started wearing a robe to the river for my morning swim. I’ve been called Lebowski and Hugh Hefner by separate walkers/runners. Went into the local coffee shop this morning wearing my robe and it had no effect on the women at the coffee shop. So just like any morning pre robe.

“Out west” and “back east”. Europeans pushed west from the eastern seaboard. Those with the means to build nicely want to push out where there are no houses, not crowd one in back from where they came.

The Jeffersons say hey.

As a non-parent, and that isn’t changing, I sit back in amusement at parents who bring their multiple, <5 yo, kids to a bar for college football games. Just a constant cycle of yelling, throwing things and eventual crying. Kids not the parents. The meltdowns look to occur when the child is told no for the first time

im not judging you but others are. lol. I can see why the parents are getting drunk or at least one of them.

A robe is incomplete without a wizard hat.

After watching the KU-Michigan EE game at Jerryworld several years ago, it was the KU adults who did the above while their kids skipped around.

POTUS #9 William Henry Harrison had the worst opening to an inauguration speech in history

Quote

However strong may be my present purpose to realize the expectations of a magnanimous and confiding people, I too well understand the dangerous temptations to which I shall be exposed from the magnitude of the power which it has been the pleasure of the people to commit to my hands not to place my chief confidence upon the aid of that Almighty Power which has hitherto protected me and enabled me to bring to favorable issues other important but still greatly inferior trusts heretofore confided to me by my country.

Which is probably why he died 31 days into the presidency

Maybe your username checked out with them.

I mean, we've all done it, right?

You get the stud finder to figure out where the studs are in the wall, BUT FIRST, before you do that... you run it across your sternum.

North and south in most of the cities I’ve lived in.

But it all depends on which way the railroad tracks run.

Why IS that?

Good question. WaPo has an article explaining it but I don’t have a sub so can’t read it:  https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/07/16/how-railroads-highways-and-other-man-made-lines-racially-divide-americas-cities/

reddit says this.  It’s as good an explanation as any:

It has to do with how cities grow.

Many towns grew around the places the trains stopped. But because trains are noisy and dirty, town centers were placed a ways away from the tracks. The more desirable residential areas were even further, and the industrial areas and cheap housing were closer. The very least desirable area were on the other size of the tracks, with were closer to the train, far from the town center, and when the train came through, blocked from the rest of the town.
