November 8Nov 8 It hurts when you hit your toe on something when you walk. It doesn’t hurt when you bump your shoulder into something when you walk. Yet you hit your toes on stuff way more than you bump your shoulders on stuff. if evolution was real, we should have shoulders on our feet and toes up top.

November 15Nov 15 the mongolian grill/bbq restaurant concept has nothing to do with mongolia. it was started by a taiwanese comedian in the 50s who first wanted to call it peking barbecue but political sensitivities disallowed him to do it.
November 17Nov 17 73 years ago my oldest brother hit a hole in one here in the moat at San Juan, Puerto Rico’s El Morro fortress when it was a 9 hole golf course on the grounds of the US Army post of Fort Brooke. The tee box was at the upper far end, and the golfer had to drive the ball over the bridge - doglegging left (towards the right in the picture) to the sand “green” which was out of sight. The caddies would sit on the bridge to signal to the golfer how well he/she had done. My brother’s caddie got so excited yelling & waving his arms that he almost fell off the bridge. In the 3.5 years we were stationed at Fort Brooke, it was the only hole in one scored on that particular hole. General Bathers’ (the commanding general of the Caribbean Antillies Command) wife, an avid golfer herself, painted a nice water color picture of my 14 year old brother’s feat….and it included the Puerto Rican caddie waving excitedly on the bridge. The picture still hangs in Brother’s home office. Edited November 17Nov 17 by Armybrat
November 17Nov 17 I have the MOST bizarre dreams. Last night's dream involved drinking margaritas with coworkers, stealing my boss's Lexus supercar (which doesn't exist), killing perceived enemies with a sharp tool that I jab into their bodies and injecting them with a poison from a spray bottle connected to the large needle, preventing a younger coworker from killing me in the same manner by jabbing him first, trying to get to an airport to catch a plane - the GPS said it was a 30 minute walk, but the taxi driver, (Uber doesn't exist) in a beat up white sedan said it would take 3 hours, 2 if he drove really fast, sharing 3 hotels rooms, one which is wedge shaped, between 5 people, my wife cheating with one of the VPs and acting nonchalant about it, getting lost on the streets of a south American town, meeting a family dressed like they're from the 1950s, not on the 1st floor of the airport because that's for arrivals, not the 3rd floor because that's departures, but on Level 2, and parking in a parking lot with the steepest drop off... But what does it all mean?

A sign of great sleep and significant physiological restoration.

November 19Nov 19 I don’t like the “lane drift” warning that tugs at the steering wheel on my Civic. I’d like to disable it, but the confusing owners manual is thicker than Webster’s dictionary. To replace the feature I think a rear window sticker that says “Caution - Octogenarian Driver Aboard” should suffice.

If you can't drive the fucking vehicle, what the fuck are you in the driver's seat for? It's also a gotdam beating having a paragraph long warning on the media screen not to take your eyes off the road. Shouldn't it disappear when the vehicle is placed into drive? Those features aren’t for you. You’re a perfect driver and never make mistakes. They’re for every other driver out there, all of whom are complete idiots, morons, self-centered, distracted nincompoops who have no idea how to drive, how to maintain a lane, etc. If every other person on the road has their driver assist features turned on, and you continue to be the captain of your own ship, then your driving is much easier because the idiots’ carelessness is mitigated.
November 20Nov 20 The people who need that shit aren't actively driving. That's the point. Traffic in general and driver behavior says none of it is mitigated. That notion is laughably insane. Spend any significant time on the road at all and one begins to wonder how some of these fuckers were ever granted a DL in the first place. Edited November 20Nov 20 by Iceman

November 20Nov 20 I just got a package of new underwear. It was in a zip-type resealable bag, with a hole it the bag so that you can feel the texture of the cloth to see if you like it. Why does an underwear package, with a hole in it, the very definition of single use packaging, have a zip-lock on it, while cereal packaging does not?

November 21Nov 21 The oldest daughter arrived late last night with her new beau whom I haven't met. So, this morning they're down the hall asleep. Should I go scare the crap out of 'em? Maybe put a shotgun buy the door for when they wake up? Or just be the cool dude I usually am? Dad is here also, because today is his birthday. But wait! the two youngest of the brood, will be here (with friends in tow) also and the oldest with his wife and new grand baby. Did I mention this will be our Thanksgiving? Here I am half ass cripple and can only escape to the back patio. So, is it a vodka or bourbon day?
