Haven’t seen ER on shelves at twin. Or at least the ones at four points and cedar park.

Finally got a bottle of RY10 and picked up a bottle of legent to go with it. Will be trying them over the holiday weekend. Have other bottles and beers to get to first.

You’re gonna have a great weekend. Both in my regular rotation. Pouring a RY10 as I soon as I finish this post.
Cheers!

I can confirm Wild Turkey Rare Breed is excellent. I think Wild Turkey has an price/age statement problem. If Rare Bird was $200, and a 12+ year age statement, the taters would be going nuts.
Agreed. This is one of those bottles like 1910 that fits into the theory that people don’t want to pay for bourbon, they want the bourbon they can’t find.
If they made half as much Rare Breed, put it in a decanter, called it Thomas Ripy, and set the MSRP at $149 it would be on allocation and selling for $600 on secondary.

Jerry Seinfeld that's a shame gif.

In all seriousness, I was amazed at how easy it was to find ER10 in Austin, but I haven't been in town since January.

I was out in Lago Vista for family gathering last weekend and needed to stop and grab some Tequila in liquor store at 1431 and Lohman Ford.   They had a 1.75 of Eagle Rare.  It was marked up at $99 but I haven't seen that in Dallas in probably 8 or 9 years so jumped all over it.  Made my day.

Any thoughts on these two? Had never seen them in the wild before this week...

Buy the Twin Oak. Probably the closest thing to 1910.

Cream of Kentucky is Jim Rutledge’s new project. It’s sourced, but Jim has one helluva palate. Jim is sort of a living legend. He was at Four Roses for a long time. I’d roll the dice, but it’s just my opinion.

It’s...OK.  I wouldn’t pay $160+ tax for it.  I might not even pay $100 for it.  At 75-ish, yeah.

Officially Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is not nearly as good as Blantons Gold

This has been brought to you by the No Shit Sherlock Department

Went into Austin Wine Merchant yesterday hoping to find something special, but it looks like everyone else had the same idea. I asked the spirits specialist what would be a good ER10 alternative as I was shopping for a gift. He just kind of chuckled and said "phew... Nothing is a good ER10 alternative." Ended up leaving with a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrell.

I like Four Roses Small Batch Select better, but solid choice.

48 hours until I crack open the Jefferson's 16.

I’m drinking my last glass of RHF. Sad Panda.

Thanks to BFLT, I got a 9 year 4R Single Barrel Store Pick waiting as backup

My bottle of OBSF arrived in the mail today. Not sure when I'll drink it, but I might go back to back with Small Batch Select to see which one I liked better.

I suspect it'll be the OBSF, but Select is a blend of  OBSV, OBSK, OBSF, OESV, OESK and OESF and aged a minimum of 6 years. That's pretty tough to be beat. Select is probably my favorite new bourbon, and it's always on the shelf. Maybe the worm is turning the bourbon world.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone have any Blanton's with dump dates from month of September 2017 or February 2, 2019? I would be very interested either.

Last release overseen by Jim Rutledge. How is it? I never opened mine

If you are talking to me it’s stupid good

Had some M10 up against it and it wasn’t even close.

M10 is delicious and smooth but that 4RLE 14 is sublime

Thanks@Erhine for making me buy it from overseas

We are still waiting in DFW for it to hit the shelves.   Fucking bullshit.  I've bought 4 bottles online from a store in San Fran @ $60 per.  Drinking it slowly.

I’m gonna be near Springfield, MO at the start of next week. Anyone on here know of a good liquor store or two to check while I’m there?

#5639

I'm drinking a darned good Elijah Craig Small Batch Store Pick and watching Austin Stories on YouTube. Life is good.

I'm leaning on making this my Sunday/filler drinker. Hard to beat for $28, but I have to it shipped in.

#5641

SIAP but I know there are some shippers who have jumped through the hoops to get their liquors/wines to Texas consumers. Who's the best online liquor retailer who ships to Texas?

You’re asking how a watch works. Be more specific; what are you looking for and what are you looking to pay for it.

Now that you mention it, how does a watch work?
