December 13Dec 13 My club’s annual JDBP we picked in August came in today and got a Christmas hookup from our retail partner when I went to grab mine. It’s a good day.
December 14Dec 14 Weird take, but OK. Stills are like Mexican food. The best product usually comes out of the crappiest looking locations.

December 14Dec 14 Check your local Total Wine. They received some JD Heritage recently. Might be the most crushable new release this year.

I understand the hesitation at that price point. It’s almost the same price as the JD Tanyard Hill Rye and the other JD special releases.
December 16Dec 16 Feeling fortunate to get this one. Even this cold weather isn’t enough to motivate to that proof any longer. I’m sure it’s excellent, but not for me.

The next time they sell me a hazmat bottle, it’ll be the first. Glad to get one north of 135 proof. Reviews have great. I’m excited to try it, but it’s probably going to have to wait until January.

December 17Dec 17 I didnt realize the Heritage bottle was desirable. Saw it at Village Liquor on Gessner yesterday for MSRP. Already ordered one from TW this morning and probably will go back and buy another.

The Brewzle guy has interviewed a couple mom and pop owners and they’ve basically said they’re getting squeezed by the distributors to charge less on anything that isn’t allocated. I remember Old Ezra 7 Rye at $40 was a bottle that was singled out. Methinks he hung up a $130 dollar handwritten sign for Heritage and his Jack guy rapped him on the wrist. That was a cool store. You could routinely find allocated stuff for 125% of MSRP. Of course it went straight to hell after Covid.
December 18Dec 18 Most crushable of the year, sure. Not my whiskey of the year, but not a bad choice. https://www.breakingbourbon.com/article/1-whiskey-of-2025?utm_source=brevo&utm_campaign=Breaking Bourbon Whiskey Wednesday Newsletter - 202551&utm_medium=email
December 18Dec 18 I’m not a big Toasted Barrel fan but I’ll give it a try given its JD and semi- reasonable price point.
December 19Dec 19 VIP Vault thoughts: - Many technical issues, but they usually fixed it. And they were always nice about it. User error probably cost me a bottle of Old Forester Presidential. - It’s more democratic. A lot of first time BTAC owners this year. I don’t give a shit because they’re going to give me Lot B/ORVW and WLW/GTS/THH every year. - I didn’t get Parker’s or 4RLE this year. These were lay ups in previous years, but I did get a JD Special Release. That was a floor drop every year previously. I wanted that Parker’s, agnostic on the 4RLE (it’s not priced well), but if I get a couple Coy Hills moving forward I’ll call it even. Hopefully stuff like 1924 and ER12 is an email instead of a drop. So sick of this camping out line bullshit. - I don’t love them throwing legacy points out. It’s a rolling 12 month point total now. I’ve tried to buy every 6 pack, bottle of wine, mixer, and nice bottle of booze at the same location since I moved back in 2011. Loyalty should mean something. Friday at 11:29 PM5 days Love is: oldest son wondering who sent iceball molds to his house and having to ask who did it. His little brother did it. Also younger bro found Angel's Envy by his house in LA for $27.99. They miss marked the 750 mL for the price meant for the 350. They let him get two bottles at the lower price and he was very happy.. Merry Christmas bourbon lovers!!!

We’ll see though… It’s their main distillery even if the Boston one is bigger, and it’s 1600 workers possibly getting laid off which is the real concern. Don’t think anyone here is worried about their supply of Jim beam being interrupted lol.

Tuesday at 04:49 AM2 days I assume Knob Creek is distilled at the Booker Noe Distillery? If Jim Beam isn’t selling, why keep making it? I would have liked a more detailed explanation. This leaves the door cracked for Reddit theories and similar bullshit.
