There are only a few players I would trust to swing, and Ardoin is one of them. Wasted out.

Witt K's the side T7. Let's get some runs.

Edited by Horny Bull

No replacement for pitchers who can just overpower them like that.

Looks like we have a late-inning bullpen guy

You don't expect to just walk up to the plate and put the bat on the ball against the likes of Reid McLaughlin.

would be nice not to lose the sweep due to one bad inning.

Maybe. Need someone reliable in the pen though

Zubia got a meatball, but the wind knocked it down.

I realize that lefties were due, but bases loaded one out is a good time to bring in your best bullpen arm.  The one you brought in anyway a few hitters later.

Still trying to figure out what we have in the bullpen.

lead off double.  get him home please.

Ardoin is one of the few homegrown hitters I can trust on this roster right now.

a walk here might be nice.   but mainly get the bunt down.

unfucking real..

and then we hit the first pitch.  horrible.

Kennedy needs to go straight to the bench.

Bad break? Nope. Just inept

no reason to try to bunt for a hit

Lead off hitter with double and couldn’t score the runner to tie the game.  Fucking lame.

well that was a shitty day of sports.

Look at the mormy cunts doing the horns down on the qt after losing three straight.

So unlucky. That was going to be runners on the corners, no outs

Nope. Horrible execution by Kennedy.

Outscored 30-13 and lose 3 of 4, but sure... Horns down. Fucking bitch ass BYU.

Baseball goes like that sometimes, but this loss felt eminently preventable, even with our issues on offense.

That too. Was hoping Quintanilla could win that but he's never shown the consistency after starting off with promise in his RS freshman year.

Yeah Quintanilla should be the Tuesday guy IMO

Yep. No reason to be bunting for a hit.

Job is to MOVE the runner over. Been watching him for 2 1/2 yrs now, and I've seen him do some dumb things at the plate, but mostly in the field, either missing throws or always trying to take out Duke Ellis by running into him. Guy has talent, but I don't think his baseball IQ is very high.

Kubíček. Quintanilla in the 7th or 8th.

Good call Pato !   Pierce agrees.

After the game, Pierce blamed himself for the bullpen's implosion. Pierce said that instead of playing the matchups, he should have immediately gone to Witt.

"We've got to make a better choice right there," Pierce said. "It's probably my fault for putting them in that situation."

A week ago against Arkansas, Stevens was again solid before running into trouble in the sixth inning. Ahead of this season, none of Stevens' 33 appearances at Texas had lasted more than 2.1 innings.

"I don't think it's a concern yet, I truly don't," Pierce said of his starter's sixth-inning shortcomings. "Again, we get to know that maybe his tops is 85, 90 pitches and he can still eat up a lot of innings because he's such a good strike thrower. That's information as well."

Witt has nothing else to prove.   Hope he is not overused.    Also, no need to DH, too valuable as a pitcher.   Seems to be the ideal closer.   Besides outstanding "stuff",  has that J Brent Cox/Huston Street attitude.   Wenzel can handle mid relief.
