March 2, 20214 yr This picture needs more love. The casual eye contact between Owens and the defender on the ground is killing me.

March 4, 20214 yr Didn't seem like the other teams wanted to be there. Cool how defenders seemed to have the angle on the sidelines, and he just accelerated.
May 6, 20214 yr Nick Saban and The Alabama Crimson Tide to host 5⭐ Texas Longhorns Commit RB Rueben Owens!
May 6, 20214 yr So fired up to see this thread bumped every time for the next year and a half. I'm not watching that video but the first post after two months being about his visiting Bama is just a little too perfect.
May 6, 20214 yr In my quiet fantasy world I believe Sark is sending him there to wow Nick then stick with his commitment to Texas. That's a nice thing for me to believe.

May 6, 20214 yr He ain't going nowhere. He and Blue see Bijan and what Sark can do and he'll get to play more minutes faster here, anyway.

By the time he makes it to campus it should be and he Blue as the top dogs. Plus he's still recruiting Arch Manning to Texas. I'd say that sounds like he's pretty locked in as of now. Of course things change, but I wouldn't worry right now. Kids haven't been able to visit places in a year, so they're eager to check places out. That's gonna happen with most all recruits whether they're committed to Texas, Bama, Clemson, and so on.

June 17, 20214 yr Man, had him on campus twice last week and then he decommits right after? Not a good sign. Also this is why we should ignore everything recruits say. He just spent the last week telling all the 9.95ers how solid he is, retweeting/liking stuff about Texas, etc. Classic.
June 17, 20214 yr 2023 commitments are meaningless right now. Win, and we should see him and Stewart back on board. Edited June 17, 20214 yr by Blackcat00
June 17, 20214 yr Lmfao. This fucking tool bag telling everyone how solid he was to Texas. When the fuck are we gonna stop accepting commitments from kids 700 days a way

June 17, 20214 yr Now that official visits are allowed kids want to take those free trips to campuses they’ve never been to. It’s a free vacation

I’m glad he decommitted so early but he never should have made the decision to commit in the first place. I guess one could get conspiratorial and wonder if he was paid or otherwise cajoled into a phony early commitment by another school to decommit a whip later to make us look bad.
June 17, 20214 yr Honestly, I’m surprised he waited this long. I thought he do it a month or two ago. He loves the attention from social media, recruiting sites, etc.

June 17, 20214 yr It's best to just operate on the assumption that these blue chips committing 2 years out will decommit.

June 17, 20214 yr Without even looking I am going to guess the mods on various 9.95 sites are all pretending like they saw this coming despite making no mention of the possibility before this happened?
June 17, 20214 yr Author Roach, for all his cluelessness, had the grace to say that he did not see this coming (though he couched it by saying he didn't think anyone did).
June 17, 20214 yr I have no clue what I'm talking about, but I wouldn't be shocked if he, Arch, and Cook make their commitments at the same time.

I don’t think anyone said a decommitment was imminent, but pretty much everyone acknowledged when he committed that he was a real decommitment risk and his recruitment would have a lot of twists and turns.
June 17, 20214 yr 2023 seems so far away at this point. Disappointed but not surprised. Time for him to build up his social media followers from many more schools before re-committing.
June 17, 20214 yr I think the thing that sucks about this the most, is that a lot of us who had doubts that this commitment would last up to signing day were getting pulled in by how actively he's been pushing for UT/the multiple visits etc... I think we might end up with him signing on anyway, but it'd be cool to have that class builder for the whole ride.
