August 25, 20214 yr Recent callup I'm assuming? He has a 1-1 record and 5 ERA in AA and AAA this year. This might be interesting. Cool opportunity for him, though. Mom and dad are at the game. He went 1 2 3 in the 1st - maybe we get a decent start from him. Edited August 25, 20214 yr by ztejas
August 25, 20214 yr Welp. There's homer #1. He was inches away from giving up one on a foul ball and the 3rd hitter in the first almost jacked one. Welcome to the show.
August 26, 20214 yr 1 ER through 4. Shook that dinger off. Now if we could quit doing things like leaving the bases loaded...
August 26, 20214 yr Getting fucking shelled in the 5th. Gave us 4 good ones at least. About as much as you can ask. Looks like he's getting pulled.

August 27, 20214 yr I see Lyles is unwilling to just conceed the worst starter in MLB award to Folty.

August 27, 20214 yr Post your spreadsheet, yo. Haven't updated in a few days, will post in the morning.
August 27, 20214 yr I'm starting to get the feeling that Rangers starting pitching generally isn't very good.

[Betting $100 a game against the Ranges on the opponent -1.5 run line, for those that don't know]

Or did you figure the return would start going up and balance out the losses (which looks like is exactly what happened).

Garcia was a huge part of that early May success, I figure he wouldn't keep it up and the pitching would show its true colors.
August 27, 20214 yr Yeah, that's why I kinda hated to see Gallo leave. There's no telling how good Garcia will be in the long run, but the odds of him being a long term cornerstone for the offense are questionable at best. At least he's a good defender. Maybe the pressure of having to carry the offense is part of it, and not being surrounded by decent bats, and having been scouted more thoroughly by opponents. There's not a lot left to build around and I'm not sure the Rangers have hastened their progress towards non-suckage with the prospects they have acquired.

Cooled off on the long ball a bit. Not sure about a cornerstone but he projects to be a pretty good part of the lineup. He's also been moved all over the place on D - I wonder if that's something that might get in his head.
August 27, 20214 yr I think he'll be good, I just don't want to count on him being what he was in the first half of the season. Yet, I hope he can be something like that for years to come.
August 28, 20214 yr I don’t care. gimme that #2 pick. lose ‘em all. 2023 is when this gets good again.

August 30, 20214 yr Just in case anyone was curious, Alexy was part of the Darvish trade.Fascinating. 3rd starting pitcher MLB debut in less than a week and we haven't hit September yet.
August 31, 20214 yr Alexy looks like a future number 1 starter. Cy Young candidate. perennial all-star. headed to Cooperstown.
