We need a new theme song for the site and for the podcast. Anyone that is musically inclined want to pitch in and help out?

We are looking for something that really captures the essence of what surly is in musical form. Bulls on parade has done us well thus far, but I think we can get even closer to it with YOUR help.

This thread can be for ideas, lyrics, rough mixes or inspirational segments of songs

Especially the second verse.

I can fart into a microphone. I'll give you a friends and family deal on the licensing.

I have heard South Austin's mom plays a mean flute.

She also plays a handy slobber boogie on the old love trombone.

I'll see if I can find and dust of the 'ol recorder. Hot Cross Buns ok?

C'mon.  This is too easy.  It has to be The Eyes of Texas.  Fuck the haters.

This podcast music isn’t racist

please do not @ me

We needed something public domain

so it would be free

We hope this didn’t hurt your feelings

because we need the views

so please enjoy the shitty content

its the best that we can do

not that these songs/replies aren't funny, but this is actually more what I was wanting out of this thread.

Working title is Songy MacThemesong for the accreditation.

Thank god I kept my recorder from fifth grade.  Authentic new melody incoming asap!

Whatever you guys come up with, I'm ready on instrumentals.

I’ll get to work on it. Maybe can collaborate with some others on the music thread that use Logic.

How long does it need to be, and do you want it instrumental or with words?

Just going to assume it can’t have minstrel show origins...

Assembly line music from old Warner bros cartoon. Might be royalty free at this point.

There goes my Stephen Foster medley.

Out in the street, you don't survive by being weak
This is our time, walls were made for us to climb
Don't you try to lock us out
'Cause we're breakin' down the doors
And all we're prepared to fight
Yeah, yeah

There's no stoppin' Surly* (No stoppin')
No one does it better (No one does it better)
There's no stoppin' Surly* (No stoppin')
Really doesn't matter

*"Surly" is the only original addition

Before I submit an entry from the ground up, here is one that I’ve already written and published for your consideration.  It has a mellow intro that you could talk over followed by kick in the pants solo to start the show.  Also the title and lyrics are very apropos.

I’d go with “We don’t have to take our clothes off to have a good time” Jermaine Stewart

Lmao!

I would love to contribute for the pod but my kids watch too much Mickey Mouse clubhouse and that’s the only tune I can come up with and I don’t want Disney suing us

it’s the Surly Horns podcast

come inside it’s fun inside
