March 21, 20214 yr If Shaka is the out then Pitino is the closest to Urban that we can get. Both have the skins on the wall and left their last college gig because of a scandal. Biggest negative is is his late 60s age but just like Urban 5-7 years is all we need to turn this ship around.
March 21, 20214 yr Popular Post Pitino said he’s done with big time programs. So I guess we still got a shot.

No no no no no. Yes, we need to make a change. No, it absofuckinglutely should not be Rick Pitino. Winning may be the most important standard, but it should never be the only one.

Pitino paid for escorts for recruits and was implicated in a federal corruption scandal. Hiring him at a major college is asking the NCAA to crawl up your ass. He’s 68. Come on.
March 21, 20214 yr Pitino is probably the Urban Meyer equivalent in basketball but he comes with far more baggage.

Iona said WTF but it's... Iona.

And thats not even the most embarrassing thing about his past behavior Quote Pitino and Sypher first met at an Italian restaurant in 2003. The story reads that the two were alone in empty restaurant when Sypher approached Pitino, which was followed by a brief sexual encounter. According to PItino's testimony, the sex lasted "15 seconds" and was "unfortunate".
March 21, 20214 yr PITINO OR BUST. Fuck your morals. Winning is what fucking matters. Shaka has had ample time and opportunity and it is clear he cannot get it done. It wasn't too long ago that our expectation as a program was to get to the sweet 16 at a minimum. Now we're at the point where we're just desperate for a single first round win. That is fucked up and unacceptable. And a state of the art brand new basketball stadium on the way?? Shaka has to go, and CDC needs to quit the smiles and handshakes and start mean mugging and handing out pink slips. Shaka you are fucking done here. Welcome, Rick Pitino! March 21, 20214 yr What's the Italian restaurant scene in Austin like these days, besides the usual OG, Carabas and Macaroni Grill? Spaghetti Warehouse still open?
March 21, 20214 yr It's almost like people don't understand that they are fans of teams at the University of Texas. There is no scenario in which the University of Texas hires someone with Rick Pitino's past as it pertains to NCAA infractions. I thought that was common knowledge among Texas fans, but apparently not.

Auburn already has Bruce Pearl, so maybe Georgia or Ole Miss. If he went to UNLV and got his freak on in Vegas while bringing back the Running Rebels complete with full court pressure and hot tub parties with hookers, the world might restore some of the balance we lost in 2020. I can’t tell you how much I would enjoy this. College Basketball would be 20% better. If Shaka gets fired into the sun my college basketball life will be 220% better.
