A few team notes from IT:

Spoiler

TEAM

Monday can be considered the unofficial start of spring ball before the official start on Tuesday.

Today, is just meetings, walk-throughs, team run, and preparation on practice structure since this is the first real practice bloc with the staff.

Sarkisian told the players they'll go fast in everything — reps, hustle, and practice pace. Monday will be a primer on a Sark-run practice at UT. The players appreciate how this staff treats them. They're treated like professionals who have a job to do. The coaches are there to prepare the players for the business of winning games.

There's extra excitement this spring, especially given how important spring ball is on the heels of back-to-back significant staff overhauls and the team missing spring ball last year. With Herman, the spring session was similar to boot camp. While we’re sure Sark's squad will be structured, things won’t be nearly as rigid.

Mitchell returning for spring ball: Senior linebacker Juwan Mitchell is returning for spring ball after missing team activities to concentrate on academics. This is probably unrelated to De’Marvion Overshown’s recent surgery that will cost him three months of rehab. With Mitchell’s return, the young linebacker group will gain experience.

This will be a good opportunity for Juwan to enter the portal/ get suspended/ flunk out a few times by the end of spring ball. It's all about building that muscle memory.

Hadn't seen that about Harris. Shame for him, but he was redshirting anyway.

Liebrock needed a big offseason, that sucks for him.

Hate to see Sweat out, thought a video was posted recently of him going through workouts?

Omeire being cleared is good, though.

Also Collins and his wrist.

There was, and also a new one today on Instagram. But it was all footwork/speed stuff. At least he can still work on trimming down.

Has anyone asked Sark if he plans on watching last year's tape on his players?

He already said that they not only watched game tape but also practice tape from last year.

My summary of the Sark presser.

We don know shit we are going to find out.

1. We don't know our players in detail until we see them on grass

2. We don't know how we are going to work together as a staff until we figure it out

3. We don't know what the depth chart is going to look like until we see these guys efforts in practice

4. We don't know what kind of plays we are going to run until we figure out what we can do well and not do well

5. We don't know exactly how are defenses are going to look until we see how these guys fit in together.

Very different from Herman that said he was not going to change anything when he got here from Houston because he had a proven staff and a proven system.

He said he couldn't get too far into any games where we had a lead because he's trying not to be driven back to being an alcoholic.

This right here is what I like to see - the more this happens, the better.

That first roll left is sick. If his play translates to live fire situations, then I don't see how this guy doesn't see the field next year in some capacity.
