July 27, 20214 yr ^ ‘some rando catcher’. Biff will be quite surprised to see the box score tomorrow regardless how it ends.
July 27, 20214 yr Author Fantastic! Glad our “pathetic offense” came through. Edited July 27, 20214 yr by MC Fresh Breath
July 27, 20214 yr Author Sorry that was a little snide. What a fun game for Mariners fans. Hope I can calm down and fall asleep soon.
July 27, 20214 yr Author Alternate angle: I'm not rubbing it in my brother Biff, but that was absolutely one of the most fun games as a Mariners fan since maybe Felix's perfecto. I know you have mlb.tv, so I mean it when I say its worth a re-watch. The tension/excitement as things started to turn around was crazy.

How to deflate a fanbase after a fantastic win, not to mention the clubhouse chemistry. Awesome, Jerry. Edited July 27, 20214 yr by MC Fresh Breath
July 27, 20214 yr Author like, holy shit, you trade sub 1 era for a .211 hitter? that's your freaking move? dammit.

July 28, 20214 yr Author in the 30 games that Graveman appeared for the Mariners in relief this season, they were 28-2.
July 28, 20214 yr Author Quote Marco Gonzales stared at the cement floor of the Mariners dugout, occasionally lifting is gaze to the field of T-Mobile Park and revealing puffy eyes red from tears. He appeared to be listening as manager Scott Servais intensely explained a decision that neither he nor his teammates wanted to believe was real and a roster move that upon first glance does little to help the Mariners in their quest to secure the first postseason appearance since 2001. Less than 24 hours after an improbable 11-7 come-from-behind victory over the Houston Astros, which included overcoming a 7-0 deficit in the third inning, a g0-ahead grand slam from Dylan Moore and the benches nearly emptying after J.P. Crawford was hit by a pitch, all the good feeling from the best win of the season was replaced by confusion, anger and frustration at the Mariners front office. Quote The vibe on the field before Tuesday’s game was expectedly subdued. Multiple pitchers emerged from the clubhouse with tears still in their eyes from saying goodbye to Graveman. “You should’ve seen it earlier,” said a veteran player. “An hour ago, it was great probably better than ever. And now, it’s the worst.” Several players opted not to speak on the record about the move, but their anger was palpable. Sources said equipment was broken and smashed while one player “went absolutely mad.” “Betrayed” was a word used often. “Are you (expletive) kidding me?” said the same player. “It never changes. They don’t care about winning. How do you trade him and say you care about winning? And you trade him to Houston? https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/mariners/mariners-trade-kendall-graveman-rafael-montero-to-astros-for-abraham-toro-joe-smith/ I'll be pretty surprised if we don't get our shit pushed in tonight. July 28, 20214 yr This was posted at 3:09 am. Oops. https://www.mlb.com/mariners/news/mariners-in-buying-position-at-2021-trade-deadline One small benefit to the trade is at least you’re back to a 3-man bench. You could see how bad the bench situation was last night with having to yank the DH.
July 28, 20214 yr What a weird move. Hey, the team is on one of the highest highs of the whole season, let’s trade away one of our best pitchers!
July 28, 20214 yr Toro is a good player. Don't read too much into his stats, he hasn't even played a full season of major league baseball but he's always raised his level of play as he graduated through the minors.
July 28, 20214 yr Author Adding Anderson won't placate things, really. It works b/c of Jerry's insistence on a 5 man rotation, and I've read he's an innings eater. Other names I see in the chatter are Merrifield and Turner. One seems much more like a pipe dream than the other....
July 28, 20214 yr Author I'll miss us losing the series with the 'stros during the day game today as I'll be on the road.

July 28, 20214 yr Your weird fascination with a 5-man rotation makes no sense. What exactly are you begging for otherwise?

July 28, 20214 yr There is zero-point-zero chance any club is running a 4-man rotation. I mean, none. You know better than this.
