there's so much to unpack from today, so i'll just start listing them. tuesday was devastating for oakland, today was twice as devastating for the yankees.  they had just started to play better.

The boy and I were at the last ALCS clincher - we were walking on air for days after Altuve’s walkoff. Today, the boy is 5,000 miles and 7 hours away, with no way to watch. So we did a video chat, w

Holy shit they’re pressing already. 39 pitches through 4 innings is insane.

Fried has had several horrid outings, you knew he was due for a gem. Bad timing for us in all areas. Baseball gods still hate us

Fried is on like 40 pitches through 4.  If he can get this to the 7th then we'll see those three lefties in a row.  We need something soon, dammit.

Running out of outs, fellas.

really though?

if the roles were reversed, there's not one of us who would say the Braves were running out of outs in a three-run game in the fifth inning.

This, along with shaky starting pitching and missing LMJ, is a recipe for losing.

It's almost as if reality caught up to a GM that did little for glaring pitching needs since taking over until some mediocre moves at the trade deadline.  To be fair, some of those pitchers have really stepped up in the post-season.  The team has gotten farther than I expected with this pitching roster.  But it is rare for a team to win a title by hitting their way to overcome a mediocre staff.  Bats are going to go cold at times at the top level of a WS.  And Strom can only do so much with what he's given.

I've said all season that Click looked to be building a team that could make the playoffs, not win a title.  He got closer than I expected, but ultimately it still seems true.  The better trade deadline GM looks to be taking home a trophy tonight.

Not over yet.  We'll see.

I don't think that's the conclusion I'd draw.  Atlanta got a bunch of jags who have gotten hot at the right times.

Anyway, lots of game left to be giving up over a 3 run deficit.

That’s because we’re Houston. If we were up 3-1 we would think we’re about to blow up and down 3-1 we know it’s over.

The relievers he brought in had shaky starts, but overall have done a great job in the playoffs. He did nothing to improve the starting pitching and that's come back to bite us.

You can’t walk the fucking lead off guy. Especially Albies.

He could have acquired the top 5 arms on the market and we still would have lost this series with the bats hitting like this.

I’m never one to throw in the towel but man when the only hard hit ball through 4 is from Maldonado, it’s not a good omen.

I'd like to have seen Altuve steal third in the first inning. Put some pressure on. But we'll never know how that would have played out. Just know we need a spark soon to wake up the team and the fans.

Jfc get your shit together astros

Fuk I hate thinking all positive after a win. Coming home and thinking our guys will go on an absolute tear to even this series.  Nope.

And Atlanta has a long history of WS excellence

Total bullshit.

Javier bought into the "Wildly effective" mantra

Actually surprised we made it this far without LMJ.

Yeah, getting to game 6 was a minor miracle with the way the starters looked heading in to the playoffs and then losing Lance in the first round.

Fuck that.

Houston wasted a metric shit-ton of great pitching, grand slams or not.

Starting pitching has been about as bad as I have ever seen.

But the bullpen's been magnificent.  The Braves have scored 6, 2, 2, 3, 5, 3.  If our offense shows up, we're not even playing tonight.

Not for long.

Another meatball.  JFC is Strom just going senile or something?

I’m going to have a hard time watching the next hour and a half of Braves suck fest.

This is facts we knew but were hoping for the best.  We were already short handed without JV or ZG and then LMJ goes down.

Their guys don’t miss the meatballs and ours turn them into dinks or GIDP. Pitching and hitting both just bad enough to lose.
