Jesus, save some runs for next time, guys.

I did a spit take when I saw the score. Man, leave their torso alone at least.

The sad part is that when we were up 10 runs all I could think about was how we were going to manage to blow it.  Then we just kept scoring.

Eh, it seemed inevitable.  Loved his versatility, but just couldn't be consistent enough at the plate to warrant a spot on the roster.  Oh well.  Let's see how much rust is on Schwarber's bat... can't imagine he's ready to play 1B anytime soon (if at all).

They really should of left Houck in after giving up a few singles he had pretty much shut the Yankees down, instead they bring them n Whitlock and immediately implode

Utterly. Welcome back, Travis!

He can still play 1B, right?

Can’t believe they needed a grand slam to stave off the mighty Gers. But I’ll take it.

We can build off of this!(?)!

Matt Barnes is broken. Complete shitshow since signing his extension.

But still, at least they won. Needed double digit runs to beat the mighty Twins at home.

Kiké Hernandez tested postive for COVID-19. Christian Arroyo is a close contact. Both will be out for an extended period of time.

Jonathan Arauz and Yairo Munoz have been added to the roster in their place. Cora said they may accelerate the timetable on Danny Santana because they will need the roster depth.

So… that sucks.

Jonathan Araúz was sleeping in the hotel in Buffalo when the Red Sox called him at 1 p.m. to get to Cleveland for the game that night. Pretty cool.

Holy fuck. Horrible end to the Cleveland game (and a bizarre interference call to give them the lead), and now for another curb-stomping by the Rays.

This team just isn’t very good. Having half the team out for Covid-related reasons doesn’t help, either.

Fuck, at least college football officially starts this week. I need a distraction.

And now Xander Bogaerts tests positive for COVID. Fucking great.

Cora needs to get his players vaccinated. This “personal choice” shit is gonna cost them a chance at the playoffs.

Article about it in the Globe today:

Now nearly a quarter of their roster is made up of players who should be playing for Triple A Worcester.

It’s a product of the Sox having one of the lowest vaccination rates in the league.

“This is our reality,” manager Alex Cora said.

Most Sox players, coaches, and staffers understood the vaccine would help them stay healthy and protect their family, friends, and teammates.

Others decided their own feelings outweighed the advice of doctors who addressed the team.

They put themselves ahead of the group and the Sox never reached the 85 percent threshold required to be considered fully vaccinated by Major League Baseball.

It’s a boulder Cora has been trying to push over a hill for six months now. Now it has rolled back and flattened him as the Sox experience the worst outbreak in baseball this season.

Ok, a 4-game split in Tampa is pretty damn good, all things considered.

Back to Boston for 3 vs Cleveland (followed by the Rays again). If they can somehow win these next two series (or at least not get swept by the Rays at home), they might keep their head above water with the fucking Covid outbreak.

Nice win last night. And now Pivetta is on the Covid list (10th this week!)

Some guy named Kutter Crawford starts today. Oh well…

And did not do that well now did he.

Today was brutal. Down by 1 and the bull pen just starts tossing batting practice.

Welcome to the shit show!  At least my boy Brasier didn't suck ass today.

Former Sox SS José Iglesias expected to sign with the Sox again after released by the Angels. He can still field quite well (and apparently doesn’t have Covid, so that’s a plus).

Would be awesome *IF* they can take 2 of 3 vs the Rays at home. Haven’t lost a series since being swept by the Yanks. Sale today, E-Rod (who’s pitched better as of late) tomorrow.

Well shit...... That game just sucked.

This team is brutal. They’ll draw you in close and then rip your heart out. And then do it again and again.

Life long fan. Grandmother started doing her box scores in the 1920's. Her quote was Like the leaves of autumn, the sox start to fall in September.

Son is 23. He only knows the winning Red Sox. Now he is seeing what I have warned him about.

Pitching dammit. Put up 10 and lose? Happens way to often.

Good Lord, this team sucks again.

Yesterday, had they somehow won in extras, would’ve been “game of the year” potential. Now, one gut punch (losing a 7-1 lead, FFS) turns into another.

Try to not get fucking swept tomorrow. Nate on the hill with a lot to pitch for.

Somewhat lucky to escape Seattle with the series win, but I'll take it.  Day off today, then hosting the Orioles for three at Fenway.  (Followed by two games vs the Mets.)  Hopefully able to maintain Wild Card standing before the three game series vs the Yanks next week.

#192

In comparison to the Jays and Yanks, the Sox have the easiest remaining schedule.

Orioles (2) | 47-100, horrible, last place AL East

Mets (2) | 72-75, 3rd place NL East,  currently have a 2% chance to make the playoffs

Yankees (3) | this is a huge series and is at Fenway

@Orioles (3) | They're ass, my dude

@Nationals (3) | 60-86, last place NL East

It'd be a collapse of Brobdingnagian proportions if Boston doesn't make the wild card game. I think they need to host to get through it.

Well we did what we needed to do this weekend.  On to the Mets.  Have to split that at a minimum.

Yeah, and hope Tampa wrecks Toronto. I hate rooting for the fucking rays.

Rooting for the Ray's just feels dirty.  Ajax couldn't wash off this shit.
