April 2, 20214 yr Anyone ever hear of potato candy? Grandmother used to make it all the time, would scarf it down like no tomorrow.
April 2, 20214 yr Snickers. Not much of a candy bar eater these days but this has been and always be my go to... 3 Musketeers not far behind. Fireballs and Butterscotch candies have given way to Wurther's.
April 2, 20214 yr While Irish is correct up above, when I think of a good "old school candy", I think of this. With the really thin white paper that's so difficult to peel off that you just give up and eat the paper too:

April 2, 20214 yr The term old school makes me think of zotz and pop rocks just because they're stuck at a point in time in my mind and I guess they're still around but rarely seen. But reese's is definitely old school and the all-time best.

It was way too rich, and sweet for me. They got hard to find, but I would scour very small town store to find them for him. Always told him, "I brought you a prize!" I sure do miss his smile. CHIEF

April 3, 20214 yr Brach’s sparklers mixed, those mini-jawbreakers in fake little soda cans, and candy cigarettes (hard candy ones).
April 3, 20214 yr I have different definitions of old school than a few of you. When I think of old school candies, it's the stuff you only find in a Cracker Barrel or candy store now like Charleston Chews, the little two tone brown peanut butter bars, the lemonheads in a box, sixlets, etc.

April 3, 20214 yr Atkinson's knocked it out of the park twice with Chic-O-Sticks and peanut butter bars. I used to devour those. This was another favorite. Edited April 3, 20214 yr by RPM

April 3, 20214 yr Author Man I forgot all about Zotz and Zero bars. Peanut Butter Bar is crushing the thread so far.
April 3, 20214 yr We ordered these through Amazon not too long ago, not as good as I remember them being... Not sure if they make this anymore...

April 3, 20214 yr Sugar daddies and lemon drops would be my go to “old school” candy. Reeses peanut butter cups are the best if you’re just talking any candy that been around awhile.
