April 4, 20214 yr Looked for the thread, didn't find one. Only found out this weekend. My youngest still likes listening to all of her Henry Huggins/Ramona Quimby books. To say that in 2021 shows Mrs. Cleary knew how to tap into something. As the Obits pointed out, she never talked down to her readers, and the humor was never mean. Her books to me fit into a 'timeless' category. Other than using real telephones and sometimes the discussion of how much things would cost, they translate well to our modern era. Thank you, Mrs. Cleary for what you gave our family, and millions of others.
December 4, 20214 yr My daughter loved the Ramona books. I think I read them all to her. RIP Mrs. Cleary
