  • I took my nieces to the TCU game in Ft Worth.  The youngest is a 12 year old libero for her school team and a HUGE Longhorn fan.  When it got to 12-12 in the 5th, she said "They're so young and probab

My thoughts so far.  1) I hate to say it because I loved Cat but I think we upgraded at libero. Petersen won't make the wow plays that Cat made but she looks to be much more consistent in serve r

Yours are probably harder to return than the ones we get in, too.

They are. I attempt to serve spinless knuckle balls straight up the middle every time. Lots of margin for error, but if I hit it right, it’s tough to return. If I hit it wrong, then it’s easy but at least the point gets started

way to use that block!

Seriously though, Micaya is either completely allergic to Shook's setting or has lost it.

The only consolation I can think they get from this match is that passing is much better.

At least it's better than last year...

So maybe next year....

The moral of the story is stay the fuck away from Stanford at all cost.  They're like WVB KState.

she's been getting underneath the ball a lot tonight instead of keeping it in front of her.  but shook's also given her a few too close to the 10 ft line.

Is she not really a shell of her freshman self though?  Last year, I thought it was setting hiccups and trying to be more "intelligent" with the ball, but it seems to be continuing this year.

jenna gray can throw a spear 60 yards?  man...

19-19 siding out last set for stanford.  we would've been halfway to a skunk with the old rules.

Seems to me like she's under it more often than not for the last couple of years.

I know Stanford is a great team and all, but it’s not like this is an undefeated Stanford team, and they have thumped us in 5 straight sets. To say I’m concerned about this team and this season is an understatement

i've only watched maybe 5 matches since she's been on campus.

Well, we are "young."

Both Logan and Micaya are running underneath the ball....or Shook isn't getting it to pins where they need it.

We are. And I’m not concerned for the long run, but this season may be rough. We’ll be in a dogfight for the big 12 rough

Yeah, I guess we were kind of smoking crack to think it would be any other way.

I just hope Jerritt is watching his substitution numbers this match....

we're covering pretty well. and as i type that a roll shot drops.

I know the commentators keep talking about the outsides not producing, but I honestly think it’s pretty hard with Shook’s sets, how well the Stanford block sets up, and their defense is getting to everything. A lot of those hits would be kills against other teams IMO.

shook's setting the slide about a foot too low.

Yep.  Their block does seem to have us gunshy though.  And there was a complete fuckup.

same as that outside swing by micaya just now.

Micaya just lobbed it over.  I'd rather see that than net or long.

great feet adjustment by micaya.

yeah, what else can they do?  At least maybe the block can slow them down.

Stanford's floor defense is incredible...passes are always going straight to their setter.

I don't believe Shook had much problem with low sets last year.  I wonder if we're trying to speed up the offense?

That was pretty good.

MoJo has been pretty quiet and I don't think she's gotten a lot of time or sets.

At least we got a set off of them....and controlled SE's that set.

i thought bamba was supposed to have put on weight.

it's Lexi's fault....the breakup.

And quit tipping/sending over free balls....they should know that by now.

I find it kind of interesting that Luketic has not seen the court.

Why? Yaazie provides leadership and has the heavier arm.

Why the fuck does Morgan keep tipping? Hit the ball, swipe the ball off the block, quit sending over a free ball.

Oh I get it and am happy to see Yaazie, but Luketic is generally such a smart player.

Fucking critical service error, again.  Tree returns the favor.

i didn't know mccutcheon went to minnesota.  good pick up for them.
