If I heard correctly, I think schools have to bid to host this year. Highly doubt anybody outbids us for a chance to host. Regional or Super Regional

Are there any restrictions still in Austin because of Covid or is this the Texas athletic department?

I think the NCAA is looking to make money. Texas is still at what like 20% capacity while SEC teams are packing these stadiums. At least that's what I saw in this Ole Miss/Arkansas series.

I just hope there aren't restrictions in Austin that limit the capacity of crowds because I think that might have an impact on hosts. I'm just spit balling here so somebody can tell me if this is a dumb thought.

I’m not a fire Pierce guy, but he needs to quit coaching third and put someone there who knows how to do it.

  • Damn it feels good to see a Texas team say fuck you and take the game right away from the opponent. So good.

Bids are always required to host.

UT property isn't subject to Austin Fire code regs, as it's state property. I'm guessing it's the same way for the stadiums, crowds, etc but who knows ...

Most people who want to be vaccinated should be by June. Hopefully most restrictions in Central Texas will be lifted by then.

...and doesn't the NCAA make most or all of its money from the bids from the schools, & not the actual gate? I was thinking the schools get most or all of the gate. Am I misremembering?

This might be true which would disprove my point. Hopefully, that's the case.

Yeah I'm certainly not sure. Just seems like I remember having heard that. I'm sure someone here will know  ...

That's more like it. Would switch Melendez and Ardoin since it's possibly an extra AB for Ivan. Also maybe switch Kennedy and Faltine, so that Kennedy is like a second lead off hitter in later innings.

This is turning into a pretty nasty lineup.

Let's see if Kolby has some good stuff today.

A pop-up dies in the infield turf for a single. Next batter flies to right.

0-0

Diving stop by Zubia to finish off a 1-2-3 inning for Kubichek in the third.

That looked like a routine flyball coming off the bat.

Does this k State pitcher have anything? Sounded like we were making good contact, and I see Anticout-of-here went yard again.

He’s got a good hard sinker that he locates pretty well.  Originally signed with Arkansas.  The pitch to Antico was up and out over the plate.

Wow what a fucking play. Trying to keep up while watching the Masters.

Time to move the CF homerun rule back to over the monster

That wasn't just a meatball down the middle either.  Melendez went out and got it.

Yeah that was a fucking bomb. Could have been 430 out there and that's still over the fence.

I mean. This is a joke now. Over the monster. 6 games in a row?  7?

Unreal

Might be time to move the guy with the 1.100+ OPS up in the order too

Not necessarily.  Sometimes that kills a good thing.

But.....having him batting clean up sounds pretty ideal

I agree just saying that sometimes moving a hot hitter up in the order kills him.

Agree. I wouldn’t mess with him right now.

Yeah I know. I’m superstitious about lineup and pitching rotation changes. Don’t fix what ain’t broke. But damn it’s gonna be tough keeping him out of the 4 hole. Especially with the way Daly gets on base and how many walks Zubia takes
