The harmonic tremolo on the originals was really special.  Hopefully, they got it right on the reissue.

I have it on my Vibroverb and its the tits.

All this Super talk has me looking at Supers though.  And it seems you can get a vintage one for about the same price as a new one.  That seems odd to me.

Depends which one.  The 50s tweeds are pretty rare if I recall correctly.  There's a 5f4 on Reverb with a $13k ask, which is nuts.  I've got a Clark Penrose (Tweed Super Clone), and once I figured how the treble knob was basically like a drive/gain knob, I've really have enjoyed it.  The early 60s "Brown" Supers seem to be pretty close to the new ones in price (I know this is the one we're talking about, harmonic tremolo and all)

You would be surprised how many amps are like that. A clean vintage one is going to be a little more expensive, but not tons. My '62 was 3,400 or so IIRC. But I feel this more mean that old ones are better value for the time, and also the will increase in value.

Marshall sells reissue JCM 800s and 900 that cost as much if not more than the vintage ones. And sells the shit out of 'em.

Purchase update:  I grabbed one of these in black a while back when my Vox was in the hospital.  I haven't played it much, but took it to my buddy's house for a writing session the other night.  Holy crap, it's really good for the money.  It doesn't crunch up very well but if you keep it between the ditches it has a really credible oh-so-slightly gritty tone.  Fender Pro Jr. IV LTD:

I've never heard a discouraging word about a Pro Jr.

Well, its a Super and not a Pro for one thing.

The biggest difference besides being a 2 x 10, is the harmonic trem  I terms of the tone stack, it will have more mids, not as scooped.

A brown Super is a phenomenal gigging amp for bars and such. 40W, easy to carry.

This super needs a new power supply. image.png
