There's basically not a position group on the whole team that isn't attractive for elite talent to have the opportunity for early playing time.

Thanks. I have been on the boards since 1997 when I was a student at Texas. We've spent decades as fans and board patrons feeling powerless to create any real change. The Internet, social media,

I work closely with a certain previously committed 5 star QB's father (hint: its Quinn Ewers, for those who haven't been following recruiting closely like I have) and chatted with him a bit this after

Lol what are they gonna do? Tickle him to death?

They probably can't block him either.

So basically Flood was good when he was coaching a bunch of Alex Leatherwoods but now, not so much? I'm starting to see a theme with the coaches that came from Bama.

To bring this back to recruiting just a little bit, what the fuck is up with Tyler Johnson? Does he have an injury that I missed the news on? Otherwise being completely buried on the depth chart behind a bunch of guys that aren't very good isn't real promising. IIRC, he's the highest rated recruit currently on our roster by a healthy margin.

Probably explains how the last staff was able to hold on to his commitment, we all laughed at Kenyon Green and his future guard position but hes actually playing

This isn't the game recap or argue about stupid bullshit and the loss thread. Go to the football board with all the other fucking idiots and get back to recruiting talk. Talking about spooking recruits because of aspects of the game is still fine.

I now hear and read this is your Stoned Jesus look

Johnson is the only composite Top 100 player on the two deep. Do I even need to type out what we need?

If Devon Campbell's uncle is involved, hopefully we can close this dude with a Laremy Tunsil esque money bag.

Maybe BC comes back and bring on Helton as an analyst? He was Sark's OC/QB coach at USC and is from Houston.

Nah, what will happen is Bill O’Brien will get a head coaching gig in college then Clay Helton will go be OC at Bama

Not looking for WR and RB? I hear Bru McCoy, Jake Smith, and Keaontay Ingram might be available.

DL might be covered for the 2022 class.

I cant believe that someone who absolutely was on the Hot Seat and needed his team desperately to perform decided that it was a good idea to hire Todd Orlando. He might as well have resigned at that point because it was clear that he didn't have a single clue

Eh. I did a re-watch of the OL against ULL last week but didn’t post anything because it was so awful. The whole OL has been consistently fucking up. Jones and Okafor were the worst against ULL, but it’s been a common theme for all of them. That’s on the coaching. I’m extremely disappointed in Flood’s coaching right now. He had all offseason to coach them up and the whole unit is a fucking mess. That’s not going to magically get better in a couple weeks.

Yeah, I think this is the best personnel move on the OL. Move Karic to OT and let Jones, Okafor and whoever else battle for LG.  Karic showed he’s good last year. I don’t see any way he’s not one of our best 5. I think Flood’s not playing him because he doesn’t fit Flood’s preferred style, but Flood needs to recognize who his best players are and make the system work for them. He doesn’t have the luxury of playing his favorite OL types of they’re not the best 5.

Majors was better than Jones and Okafor against ULL, so benching him seems too reactionary IMO. Plus, that requires moving Angilau to Center when we don’t have a good backup Guard option. Conner got some snaps at RG for Angilau against ULL, and he does not look anywhere near ready to play, and Imade is supposedly the other backup guard and we all know he sucks.  Majors is better right now than Conner or Imade, not to mention that you might be weakening two spots if you move Angilau to Center and he’s not good there, a la Kerstetter last year.  And considering Angilau has never played Center before, that seems pretty likely if you try to switch him mid season.

Motherfuck! This sounds strangely familiar to the last couple staffs as far as trying to fit square pegs in round holes. Let’s hope it’s not deja vu

Perfect combo, not a lot of people willing to take that dead end job

I’ve seen more evidence to the contrary but I hope you’re correct. His drop Saturday was unacceptable for a hit.

I still think it's too early to tell if he's a hit or miss because of that.

I’ve questioned some of his decision making on the field, as well. A number of times he bobbed when he should have weaved.

He’s a Freshman.  He dropped 2 balls on Saturday. This is what happens when you play Freshman.  The issue for us was OL and lack of tackling.  This is where coaching and the buy in gets tested.  If the coaches can clean up the tackling issues, our defense will be fine.  If we can get the OL to block and allow time for plays to develop, we will GE fine.  It didn’t happen on Saturday

What on earth? As Michael Knight pointed out, Whittington is 3 years removed from HS. Whatever rationalizing folks want to do for him, claiming he’s young for the CFB game isn’t one of them.

Took a few years for Jordan Shipley to get going too.  He was a ghost his first several years.

Not a perfect comparison admittedly but all I'm saying is all kernels don't pop at the same time.  I think JWhitt has some real potential.  Let's see what he does in the coming years.

The problem with this comparison, Shipley was in his 3rd year in 2006 as he signed as part of the 2004 class.

What?  He's got 35 catches for 395 yards in 8 career games.  He dropped one fucking ball and didn't make a circus catch on a shittily thrown ball.  Fans are the worst.

If that’s his only drop, nice. I’m more concerned with his injury history and decision making/route running before calling him a hit.
