Thanks. I have been on the boards since 1997 when I was a student at Texas. We've spent decades as fans and board patrons feeling powerless to create any real change. The Internet, social media,

I work closely with a certain previously committed 5 star QB's father (hint: its Quinn Ewers, for those who haven't been following recruiting closely like I have) and chatted with him a bit this after

My guess is he kept his promise.  Pay me and i commit.  I'll believe the follow thru when it happens.

Dunno.

I can't make sense of his ranking, though. Looks slow to me

That's not really how it works.

Well he’s not 1000% committed, so I think we have a chance

My view point is that if you know UGA has been rumored as on the NCAAs radar, why not as a HS kid take the $$ now and then see what happens later?

If for some reason the NCAA comes calling and swoops up UGA and comes asking questions you can turn them in and be allowed to go elsewhere. If they just hammer UGA (or at least throw out the signs with a NOA) then you can decommit and maybe get a second payday...

I just can’t see the downside of taking the $$ from out of state now knowing that if it goes to shit you still will have options near home. All it requires is betting on yourself to do well this next season.

Burton on Player Personnel Director

Spoiler

Inside Texas has learned that Drew Hughes is no longer expected to become the director of player personnel for the Longhorns under coach Steve Sarkisian.

Hughes, previously the player personnel at South Carolina, was expected to take the Texas job before NCAA compliance at Texas did not clear him. Hughes was at Tennessee for a couple of years and the Volunteers are currently going through an exhaustive review process with the NCAA.

Arkansas had also shown some interest in Hughes but he is actually expected to land in the NFL.

While there will be many possibilities for Sarkisian to choose from, expect the solution to be a disciple of Ed Marynowitz. Marynowitz is considered the dean of college football player personnel departments, revolutionizing the position in college sports under Nick Saban. Marynowitz now works for CAA super agent Jimmy Sexton and ostensibly helps coaches fill out their personnel staffs.

If he's too toxic for Texas or Arkansas, the NFL makes sense.

How do we know there weren't legitimate concerns with Hughes?

Because CDC sucks.

Another disappointment from Del Conte

If Arkansas couldn't clear him and he's moving to the NFL it sounds like there might be legitimate issues.

The fact he's NFL bound suggests there may be.

Champion?? What is this, 1988?

The fact that people bomb on CDC so often and in such numbers is silly.

He made a huge mistake in extending Herman when he didn’t need to, but he’s cleaned that up now and then some. Most other hires have been great, and he’s doing a really good job in general.
