Think they're recruiting Anderson as a CB.

Thanks. I have been on the boards since 1997 when I was a student at Texas. We've spent decades as fans and board patrons feeling powerless to create any real change. The Internet, social media,

Fong just CB'd Bryce Anderson to the good guys with a confidence of 8

So I guess that means Anderson has let A&M coaches know his decision.

Yeah Gideon is gonna be around here for a long time. The Anderson recruitment is about as impressive as it gets.

Anderson mentioned in an interview that Joseph had said something to that effect. I think he'll land at Safety but we'll see.

Well, I can’t speak for Tex, but I haven’t seen a report saying that Denver is leaning aggy.

I was talking about Ish because he's been talking to Gideon and I was distracted and forgot about Denver.

To your point though, it appears Gideon is becoming quite the volume recruiter.

Do y'all think we have a realistic shot at Wilson from IMG? Adding him to what we got cookin would be borderline erotic.

Denver Harris. He seems more gettable than Brooks at this point. Gimme Denver Harris and some stud from Cali. Domani Jackson seems unlikely AF, but who knows he is at Mater Dei. Prysock seems wide open, gettable, and part of the all name team. Fuck, lets do that.

(Super K) Where Things Stand With the First DB Class

Spoiler

I’ll start with this tweet from last night…

***Among the top priorities in this class were Jaylon Guilbeau, Bryce Anderson, Denver Harris, and Bryan Allen.

***Guilbeau, as you know was committed when this Texas staff came in. He planned on decommitting and called coach Joseph to do so. But they were able to keep him in the boat and Jaylon seems very happy about that and is recruiting for Texas.

***Bryce Anderson was previously committed to LSU and before we went out to see him a couple of weeks ago, most had him as a TAMU lean. Leaving that visit, this was the tweet…

And to be clear, I never told Bryce to throw up the horns or to wear a Texas shirt.

It was clear, Texas had made a major move. Since then most in the recruiting world seem to agree.

I’d look for a decision sometime in April.

***Last time I spoke to Bryan Allen Jr was on the first of February.

At the time, it was clear he was down to Texas, Texas A&M and OU. I couldn’t get a clear sense of which direction he was leaning and my guess is he didn’t know either. I also got the very real sense that if Bama put down a serious offer, it would be a wrap.

Pretty clear that most of the recruiting world hasn’t had a good sense of where Allen was leaning either.

Fast forward to yesterday and…

Young CJ Vogel out did me on the scoop and perhaps even the photo skills!

Like with Bryce Anderson, I think you’ll start to see more folks in the recruiting world get the sense that CJ did – that Texas has pole position for Allen.

As CJ said, an announcement could come in March.

***This week, Denver Harris dropped his top four. Not surprisingly, Texas made the cut. Also included are TAMU, Bama and LSU.

Don’t yet have a strong sense of this one but the current commits are working on Harris and should Texas land Allen and Anderson, it could help. Anderson already told me that wherever he goes, he’s going to be recruiting Harris.

***Bottom line is, there is a real possibility that Texas could land most if not all of their very top defensive backs targets. And I know some will say, well, Herman did the same.

First, Texas beat TCU for Jamison. OU didn’t throw their hat in the ring and TAMU wasn’t pushing.

Foster was injured so schools had cooled on him. And by the time Anthony Cook made his decision, he had lost his spot at Ohio State and perhaps even Clemson.

It wasn’t the same competition and it wasn’t the same timeline. Herman also had the advantage of being the new energy after a different underwhelming tenure. Sark is taking over after two underwhelming tenures so he’s naturally going to have to deal with more “I’ll wait and see” skepticism.

Finally, Sark is dealing with Covid visit restrictions in his very first few months at Texas. I understand that everyone else is but the kids he’s recruiting have been to the other schools in the region prior to the Covid restrictions and met those coaches. Sark and company are new.

So, no, in my opinion, if Texas can close the deal on these guys, it’s not the same as the previous staff’s first year boon.

If they have food, he's there.

Adding Anderson and Allen to our class puts us at 3rd (187.19) behind tOSU and LSU with two fewer commitments than either of those schools.

No shot. Only reason he tweets about Texas is to get Twitter followers. 0% chance he comes to Texas

Interesting that he didn't mention Hullaby. Was he not a priority for this staff? I thought he was.

Great point. I forgot about Guilbeau who supposedly looked pretty good this past weekend at the 7on7.

9.95ers are completely in the dark with Hullaby. Nobody knows what happened.

Allen possibly next week. Kristopher Ross is supposed to pop on like the 23rd, right? Then Anderson in the first couple weeks of April. Plus there's always the possibility that an OL guy or two decide to pull the trigger sometime in this same timeframe (Devon Campbell, come on down).

Recruiting is gas, my dudes.

I doubt it. He showed up to a HS state championship around 2007 to "scout" some players. He arrived late, brought several goofy friends along, stood on one team's sideline, mostly texted and fucked off, then left before halftime. The dude sucks as a human being.

Joseph is the aggy coach that recruited all their safety speed corners right? Hrmm.

The Blue jump is also funny because ever since he committed he’s been sliding down Looch’s top 44.

Think he had him at 20 or 21 in the state in his most recent and 247 has him at 32 in the entire country, haha.

Bear Alexander’s difference is pretty crazy too.

Somebody asked Super K and he said that as far they know, Allen is being recruited as a safety.

pretty sure he's talking about Terry Joseph

I've only seen Anderson run past defenders on film, so he may or may not have corner skills. But he's a sub-10.8 guy. Speed isn't a skill he lacks.
