I work closely with a certain previously committed 5 star QB's father (hint: its Quinn Ewers, for those who haven't been following recruiting closely like I have) and chatted with him a bit this after

No? I think most people who were familiar with what he had been doing were excited about the hire, his name had been out there last year for Tom's last ditch revamp too. A lot of it was over his work in ST but he was clearly a coach on the rise.

The state is absolutely loaded this year. Allen is the 88th ranked player in the nation, but the 18th rank player in the state (per composite). That’s insane! And we’re looking good for a majority of those players in the top 20 in Texas.

Who’s next? I know someone was set to announce in the next month besides Allen

This is probably the best and most well done commitment video I’ve seen for a Texas player. Music, film work, voice overs, audio.

This isn’t a surprise, right?  This is the guy we thought we were getting on Monday pulling the trigger today instead, correct?

Why you got to hate? Take it as a great surprise that he committed a day early. It's hype season any thing can happen

It was more hyperbole, but most people were unsure if Gideon can recruit or not.
