Thanks. I have been on the boards since 1997 when I was a student at Texas. We've spent decades as fans and board patrons feeling powerless to create any real change. The Internet, social media,

I work closely with a certain previously committed 5 star QB's father (hint: its Quinn Ewers, for those who haven't been following recruiting closely like I have) and chatted with him a bit this after

As a sophomore he doesn't seem to have great feet and would have had problems playing in space and covering out of the backfield. He doesn't seem like a Patton replacement to me.

The Longhorn staff hosted one final recruiting event before preseason camp with the current team enters full swing. The Texas Bash pool party and BBQ saw several of Texas' top 2022 targets make their way to Austin, including several commits.

DL Omari Abor, Duncanville (Duncanville, TX) (2022) – Texas can thank Cy-Park’s Harold Perkins for encouraging Abor to take this visit. Abor spoke with Perkins earlier in the week and the five-star linebacker suggested Abor make it to Austin. Perkins was not able to attend, but that didn't stop the the Duncanville DL from making it to Austin with his family. He spent one-on-one time with Steve Sarkisian and Pete Kwiatkowski.

Abor has taken visits to Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU. He plans to see USC officially. His last official visit could come down to Texas and Texas A&M. Abor will be in College Station today. Abor mentioned Oklahoma received an unofficial visit, and he considered an OV for the Nebraska game, but communication from Oklahoma has fallen off in the last month.

OL Devon Campbell, Bowie (Arlington, TX) (2022) – The five-star OL arrived in burnt orange from his head to his feet. He made the trek to Austin to have a good time at the pool party and continue to get to know Texas’ coaches. In Campbell’s words, UT is still “a top school, and that won’t change.” He spent time with Connor Robertson and Cole Hutson during his trip. He knows he is a priority for Texas. He still plans to see a game at Texas for an official visit.

DB Bryce Anderson, West Brook (Beaumont, TX) (2022) – The Golden Triangle defensive back spent time with Texas commits Robertson and Hutson, who encouraged him to come “be a part of something special.” He’ll see College Station today and will spend some time with Jimbo Fisher. Anderson said he spent about 30 minutes one-on-one with Sarkisian before starting the pool party. Anderson said he will be back in Austin for the Louisiana game on Sept. 4. He will be watching how the Aggie and Longhorn defenses use the nickel and the free safety, and also take note of the play of D'Shawn Jamison and Josh Thompson. He plans to decide around when district play begins.

EDGE Derrick Brown, Texas High (Texarkana, TX) (2022) – Brown will decide today at 1 p.m. He is still in Austin. He mentioned he feels as if Steve Sarkisian himself personally made Brown a priority and showed the East Texas product how much he is wanted in Austin.

K Will Stone, Regents (Austin, TX) (2022) – TEXAS – The kicker from just down the road enjoyed seeing his future home. He was impressed by the south end zone and spoke with some of his fellow commits during the visit. He also spoke highly of special teams coordinator Jeff Banks. Stone has dreamed of being a Longhorn since he was a child, and he’ll soon be able to accomplish his dreams.

DB BJ Allen, Aledo (Aledo, TX) (2022) – TEXAS – The Texas commit trekked to Austin with his little brother, 2024 Jaden Allen. He spoke about his relationship with Blake Gideon, and also how important it is that he’s going to be just over two hours from home. He connected with Bryce Anderson during the visit, and told him “he knows where home is.” Allen will be back for a game this fall.

-Regarding the SEC move, it was an attention grabber for some prospects like Abor and Campbell. For others, it was either barely mentioned or not something that moved the needle too much. It’s a topic where the excitement level varies between recruits. Like most recent press announcements, the date the coaches mentioned was 2025 but they also admitted (at least according to Abor) their move to the SEC could come earlier than that.

I don’t see Abor giving us an honest look, but this is all pretty interesting. Surprising that Perkins is the one who convinced Abor to show when Perkins himself didn’t. And why has Oklahoma’s communication fallen off? They blew that recruitment pretty bad.

Yea man, the obvious caveat, everything can be bullshit. This board would be empty if we never discussed possible bullshit.

It wasn’t sunshine pumping. Just calling out bullshit logic.

I’ve always felt like Stewart likes Texas deep down, but his primary concern is a killer NIL situation. If all the rumors and reports of us fucking that up are true, we never had a chance in hell.

So it’s like Frisco?

Maybe that explains why it feels like home.

I’m shocked that we have not been able to generate any momentum with a new head coach and the move to SEC.

Its been barely 24 hours and we are about to get a commit in 9 minutes. I don't understand the constant emotional pendulum when its proven almost every year that Texas will get its guys. We don't need to be full of the virtue of patience, but we as a fanbase definitely need more of it than we currently have.

Imagine believing what Evan Stewart says lol he says that about every school he visits.

Not really, Florida has pretty much been in "front" since decommitting from us and he visited there. They also have his 7v7 QB committed there as well. So it's not completely nothing.

Stewart is gonna do Stewart though, he really just says shit without it really meaning too much.

He said he would commit on the spot if Texas moved to the SEC. That doesn't sound like FLA is the leader, I know that he's not enamored with the prospect of it being 2025 but that's still a weird comment to make for someone who is destined for Gainesville.

Yeah, this doesn't really make sense unless OU feels really good about other top flight DL. Maybe Dindy has told them he's coming but doesn't want them to take other DEs (Dindy views himself as a DE). That may explain the take of Cedric Roberts last week and Quixotic pursuit of Hero from CA.

Either that or they've just screwed it up (more likely).

So he’s a WR that they are looking at as a LB?

Like the aggy to TCU guy?

Is that why his 247 is in the mid-500s?

He also said he would commit on the spot if Texas joined the SEC. In some places that's a legally binding gentleman's agreement
