Thanks. I have been on the boards since 1997 when I was a student at Texas. We've spent decades as fans and board patrons feeling powerless to create any real change. The Internet, social media,

Well, he does ride his horse to the Tenaha old town road and shit.

No joke,  but small town kids can often get overwhelmed in bigger cities. They grow up with pretty limited amenities and often don't really need to feel like they are living "the life". Sometimes, what we consider backwater or a shithole is a big upgrade for them and they are happy in the smaller towns. That's all I got. Good luck kid, I hope it works out.

I agree somewhat, but I grew up in an East Texas backwater town with only about two or three kids going to UT.  Most of my stupid classmates bet on and rooted for Arkansas in the game of the century.  We all graduated and did well.  I lived the life!  Earl was in the next East Texas class.  Earl and Ricky can profess about the value of a Texas education.

I think I found the worst decision I've ever seen. This dude picked Liberty over Northwestern, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

Who was advising this kid? Hopefully for his sake none of these offers were committable.

I threw Tennessee on there for their football pedigree. Madison has an elite history department and all the smartest people major in history.

NIL kinda compounds the WTF factor with some of these decisions, though it also gives me some hope for the future maybe

Anderson is staying the night in CS and tomorrow throughout the day.  He's spent more than twice the amount of time at aggy than here.  I think we know how this ends.

They get to bang the head coach's wife as long as they - at the "appropriate" moment - promise to yell "I'm committing ... I'M COMMITTING ... I'M COMMITTING!!!"

Mike Roach said on Light The Tower on Friday that A&M is paying players to visit - said he can’t prove anything but that he’s been told by enough players that they went there to ‘check out the NIL’ that there is something going on and it’s not just a great power point presentation.

It's Baylor. I hope he has a nice life but his football career at that school crashes and burns even in the MWC.

Of course there is. Aggy’s second most time-honored tradition (after being fucking doofuses) is cheating.

#27921

All this talk about aggy cheating is fine and dandy.

The real issue as I understand it that payment to players is essentially legal now with NIL. Fine.  bring it out in the open. Establish once on campus x type of player should see y amount of money.

Presumably (I hope) we match or exceed what aggy bama  or any other SEC team pays. I will say that out of the gate I am concerned that we may not take full advantage the new environment and continue to try to win with one hand tied behind our back. Seems like we are pretty much fucked with the 22 class. Maybe we get our ass in gear for 23.

One thing seems clear though that payments will continue to kids not yet on campus, ie high-school recruits. Payments for visits. Payments for signatures. I have little doubt this is where Texas will continue to get beat up on the recruiting field.

Will the 5 star or other top talented kids wait to get the money once they step on campus (at Texas) or will we continue to lose kids that can get the money early and then again when they step on campus ( at a school other than Texas?

Ahem… let me butt in. I grew up in a town of 2200. Granted, I was 3rd my my class of 99 so I had choices, but our #1 went to Baylor, #2 SMU, I went to TEXAS. And #4 went to aggy. Literally everyone else that went to college went to sfa. If any of the kids I went to HS with got an offer to Texas they’d have taken it no questions asked. I question this kids priorities unless he actually ends up at UT. What a fucking idiot. Most easy Texas kids with options and a good head on their shoulders want to get the fuck out of small town life as soon as possible.

btw, the #1 from my class that went to Baylor now works at the local pharmacy (loser), and #2 got knocked up by a gay pornstar while on a coke bender at SMU. Go to Texas and your life won’t suck kid.

Yeah well, shit got crazy I guess. Luckily this was after the high school baseball coach had a weird relationship with her and also after I banged her so.. she fell off the face of the earth on social media except LinkedIn, probably better for anyone that knew her at this point. Great lay though 🤷🏻‍♂️

A couple of posts ago, I made a joke I’m actually not proud of, but went for the cheap laugh. I consider myself an ally, and being LGBTQ is obviously 100% ok.  Being Craig James is not.

We are still a year away from having even comparable facilities to most big12 teams, much less the SEC. The fact that we are being out recruited by everyone shouldn’t be shocking. Oh, and we’ve sucked for 10 years. surprise!?!

Dude it’s pay for play.  We don’t pay, so they don’t play.

They are probably just pissed that we got their wide receiver target to commit to SMU.

Its just a thought, but if you’re progressive enough to fuck a rando gay porn actor on coke you should also be progressive enough to be pro choice (no CR)

OU had a "mystery recruit" visit yesterday and speculation is it was Jamarion Miller.

TFB:

***First, we are told that 2022 Texas RB commit, Jamarion Miller did make his way to OU for a visit. From what we gather the visit came about pretty quick, not unlike the visit to Texas.

We hope to have more on this later and how big of a threat the Sooners may or may not be.

A couple notes I made on the OU side after communicating with Jamarion’s mother are as follows:

We will try to get read from Jamarion this week but I get the sense his mom liked the visit but as she said, “I take it in as much as I can as if I will be attending the college but Jamarion has to pick what school is best for him and the school that he’s comfortable to help him grow and develop academically and as a man.”

I thought it noteworthy that she did say that in terms of football aspirations, her hope for him is that he have a chance to win a Heisman trophy. So, my question is who pitched that better? OU has the more recent Heisman trophy winners. And, they’ve had a number of guys invited to the ceremony in recent years.

However, Sark can pitch that he had two guys at the ceremony just last year and one of them won the award.

So, tough call.

Our guess is that if something is going to happen here, it will happen quick. If a week or two go by and Jamarion hasn’t really made a move, I think that tells you he’s solid to Texas.

Puzzled by the Patton angst. The flags around this guy tell me he won’t be heard about again regardless of him being in Austin, Waco or Ann Arbor.

what is way more worthy of discussion is my post above that basically outlines the total destruction of UT football in the coming months and years ahead.

Well that or losing Patton.

I remember when I thought Cameron Townsend was going to be something for us. Dude looked like a walk on player when he was a top 20 ranked OLB. I think your assessment will be correct.
