Story is he was benched last night, and was pissed, because he's 6 for 9 against the Ray's starter.  "Source" says Maddon didn't bench him, the order came from higher up.

Looks like it all came to a head today.

I expect he'll sign with the Cardinals and retire immediately.   Pretty shitty of Arte if you ask me, unless Albert asked for this.

Yeah.  Not the way you end the career of a future HOF player.

Needs 29  more homers to catch Arod and is 101 rbis behind Babe Ruth.  He may just call it quits.

Someone on twitter said have the Rockies sign him.  At Coors Field, he might hit those 30.

He could get those numbers in 3-4 years easy.

This is a joke, right?

You presume it's up to him?

Is Brad Lidge still pitching?

As an Astros fan, I say good riddance. He’s hit 54 lifetime homers against us. And has a slash of .295/.378/.535.

His cumulative WAR in 10 seasons with the Angels was a little below 13 and he hasn't had a year above 1 since 2016V(1.5)....it was a terrible contract and time.

his hr total is 62 at last count vs Hou iirc

Seems like a signing the Mets would make to sell merch and take headlines away from the Bronx for a day or two.
as a PH.

I think he takes his $340mm and goes fishing.

Only if God tells him to take his $340mm and go fishing.

I can think of 30 people in the mortal realm that might tell him the same thing.

Thought it was hilarious at the time the Angels were paying him all that money for raking with the Cardinals for a decade.

One of the worst contracts in sports history and everyone knew it at the time.

Meanwhile they are wasting the career of the best player in the game.

This. They have a sober, healthy version of Mickey Mantle and they’ve struggled to put a good team around him. Trout will turn 30 in August, and he’s never won a playoff game. This is just cruel.

They’re also wasting Ohtani. Just a very sad franchise.

Seems like some kinda weird dumb flex on the Astros by the Dodgers front office expecting to see them in October.

But why?  It makes even less sense for him to be on a roster in the NL.

Pujols is not dogshit against lefties, and the one major-leaguer I know absolutely raves about how much Pujols taught him about baseball in one single meeting.

So much so that he went to his former team

I've been a fan my entire life.  Any "wasted" discussion starts and ends with Nolan Ryan.

Nevermind Don Baylor.
